leaking crv boots fronts, need part # and procedure for this repair plez

2004 sr5

135k miles, dealer wants 450.00 total for boot replacement

I'm not sure how to link to the thread so I just bumped it.
I had a similar thing happen. My boot was intact but leaking at the small clamp. If you are handy then this is a DIY. If the boot is split then you should go with a replacement halfshaft.

The clunking noise you posted about in the other thread may be related to this. I noticed a clunking that was diminished after doing this repair.

Keep in mind, you can tighten the clamp, but that does address the fact that you've leaked grease already. Depending on how much you've lost already, that grease needs to be refilled, which is nearly impossible to do.
