leaking in the console?

I recently bought a 2015 sr5 premium 4runner up here in Alaska. Its been freezing weather up here for the past month, month and a half and recently its been warming up to about 32-40 degrees. I noticed i had a leak tho and wondered if anyone else experienced similar problem or explanation of what could have happened? pictures attached, thanks in advance

I'm assuming that its definitely still under warranty. Take it to the dealer ASAP. Hopefully there is no mold under the headliner. It might be from a leaking sunroof seal.

My thoughts exactly.
1 Glad I don't have a sunroof
2 Frozen drain, thawed roof

That's weird, I haven't seen this happen in Colorado. And I leave mine out covered in snow at -20 to -30F.

Obviously it would have to be above 32F on the roof. I suspect outside temp near 20F and sunlight on a snow or ice covered roof.

Could be as simple as sunroof not fully closed?

Have you messed with the roof rack?

I always had it completely closed and barely used it since i got it up here, haven't had the chance to enjoy the summers here in anchorage

I'm betting on ice build up in the drain tubes causing either overflow or a cracked drain tube due to ice expansion. Unfortunately no way to get to them other than dropping the headliner. You can try running weedeater line through them if you can find the ends.

I'd agree with the clogged/frozen drains. Best bet is to keep the snow off the roof. The sunroof is designed to pass water through the "seal" and down the drains. If the drains freeze closed, there is no where for the water to go.
If you open the roof, you probably have a nice trough of water up there with no place to go.
You could also run the car with the heat on full and hope that the interior gets warm enough to clear the tubes. Not sure where they run in the 4runner but most cars run them down the A and possibly B pillars.

I had a buddy with a Vanagon that had a huge sunroof and clogged drains. When he would stop, the water would rush to the front of the opening and splash/pour over/out of the channel and give him a nice cold shower.

On the 3rd gen they ran down the a pillars and came out just inside the kick panels through a small hole into the body work somewhere under truck but on the rear they passed over windows and down rear most pillar by cargo door and out though body just behind the wheels. The tubes were visible on back of 3rd gen but I've not looked on my 5th since I don't have a sunroof.

yeah, I used to have a 07 camry w/ sunroof. The clips holding the tube broke or something so it used to leak down the pillars but that was a easy fix for me. But leaking in the center like that, first time :/

I think that either sunroof was not fully closed and frozen later on or something needs to be fixed. Mine SR5 survived 4 Canadian winters without any sunroof leaks.
