Ok so either my head gasket has gone again! or i have one of my brand new valve steam seals that have gone bad. Im leaking oil out of the tail pipe!!!!!! when you rev it up it splatters on a paper towel. so what i want to know is. who makes a better head gasket? i used the niponensa factory one from napa last time.

it might not be your gasket it could be a warped head this would make it so no matter what gasket you used it would leak you may want to take it apart and have the head checked out and shaved if need be

ya i did the head gasket a year ago! it hasnt been driven much. when i did it i got the head decked and new valve steam seal put in it. the machine shop checked it all out and gave it a thumbs up. So when a head gasket goes, can dripping oil out of the tail pipe happen? I think my other option is the top end of the long block might be warped. I might have to do a total rebuild on it.

with the head gasket having both oil and coolant passages near the cylinder wall it is possible but before you go for another gasket have the motor leak down tested that will tell you a lot more about whats going.
you may find that checking your spark plugs could tell you a bigger side of the story. if just one of the plugs has oil burnt on to it then you may be having problems with that cylinders head gasket or oil rin on the one piston. now if all of the plugs have burnt oil on them then you may have to look into a full oil ring set at that point you might as well put new bearings and rings and such.

it may just be that they didnt put the valve seal in correctly but being a year from when they did it you might have to bite the bullet on the cost of replacement.

Maybe its not oil, is it possible the truck running really rich?

Defiantly get that leak down test done that SV recommended, that will tell you if its HG

Hyde i said leak down.

anyway. now that you say that its bad gas milage Hyde might be right.
if you get some of that black stuff on a white rag youll know what it is.
CARBON from running rich will dry out OIL from your crankcase will not dry out.

a compression test is a primitive form of a leak down test it will give you some idea but not as good of one as the full leak down test.

just for fun test the AFM and the TPS here is a link on how to do this.
