Well, I got the unfortunate news from my shop that my new-to-me 99 4Runner has a slow coolant drip from the rear freeze plugs on the back of the engine block. Replacement requires dropping the transmission. I've never heard of this one before with my past trucks, anyone else seen this?
It's only got 135k on it, but I don't think mileage really matters. I'll make sure the rear main seal gets replaced at the same time, and closely inspect the flex plate. Any other 'while you're in there' stuff to do?
The transmission itself shifts flawlessly, thankfully.
