I could move mine a little, I had the same issue with leaking and i ended up having to replace the whole glass.

I just checked mine and it moves (mine does not leak). I'm pretty sure that is because of the rubber seal. I believe there is a drainage system built in to the sunroof that lets water run down a tube that goes down the a or b post. Perhaps your drain has become clogged.

So did they do the blatantly obvious and run a hose over it for a few minutes to test the 'adjustment'?

I can tell you that there are dried water marks running down the window. these, however, could be artificially placed just to make me think they did the "adjustment" and tested it to justify the hour labor.
