leaky tranny...

so i was checking under the truck today and found this. can anyone help me out as to what it is? its almost directly under the shifter. i dont think its on the top of the trannsmission but it could be? thanks.

oh btw. 96 3.4 automatic

I'm not mechanic, but it appears to be spread out. I may clean it up nice and good and check it regularly to see where the problem is coming from.

Wow. Idk why I didn't think of that. Yeah definitely will, and I'll try to get some better pics, its really had to take a picture of your transmission while laying on the road with your cell phone, lol thanks. I'll get that tomorrow,

It looks to be coming from up top of the tranny, but clean up the existing leak and then make another diagnosis.

Judging from the pics I'd say that the top sensor is the leak. clean it all off with brake cleaner and drive it around for a day then give us another pic. Try pulling it out appears to be 10mm, seal it with high temp RTV.

The top black plastic plug that is held in by the bolt has an o-ring that leaks. I just replaced mine for the second time.

So that would be the one that is hidden in the second pic by the cable?
Also where can I get that at?

Yeah, it's the one behind the cable. I was able to use an o-ring from my o-ring kit, but the stealership sells them for several dollars each.
