Lean Question

I have a 2004 V8 which I recently lifted. The lift info is in my sig. I am experiencing leaning to my driver side of an inch in the front and half an inch in the back. It's pretty noticeable. I was just wondering if this is normal? I have no added weight so far. Should I use a poly spacer in the rear to correct this? I measured when I only had a quarter tank of gas.

I believe this is almost a universal problem when lifting our 4runners. Most people buy a single daystar or other brand rear 1.5'' lift spacer and run it on the driver side rear, and this will make it as close as you can get to level.

You can buy them for about $40

From what I've read, doesn't that only happen with the OME coils? People running the toytec lift (eibach springs and superflex in the back with 5100's) don't seem to have the lean?

please correct me if i'm wrong..

Very common issue due to the extra weight of the battery and gas tank being on the same side. Pop a rear spring spacer on the driver side rear and it will help immensely.

I just had my FJ coils and 5100s installed this past Monday, with Daystar 1.5 spacers on both sides. I had 1/2" sag to the drivers' side and was kinda pissed about it. Also, the truck seemed to have a good amount of rake even though the struts were set to max. Anyways, I towed my boat around 40 miles over the weekend and the lean seemed to subside, for now anyways...

Thank you everyone. I knew it would lean but I didn't know that it would lean so much. It doesn't bother me really, but my parents won't leave me alone about it and said that it had to be something wrong with the coils. I wish they would have just made the Superflex's with an extra wrap for the drivers side so we wouldn't all run into this problem. Thanks again guys!

Others have fixed it by installing a front drivers side trim packer, 5mm. I know OME offers one, not sure if it works with your setup. I am sure Toytec can tell you.

Since I am on threaded coilovers I just did an extra turn higher on the front and that offset the drivers side lean.

I have the same adj. Toytec coilovers. So will that work or will it stress out the components more than normal?

I would call Toytec and ask. The other option is a 1/4" top spacer on driver front to level it off. I have slightly more preload on my drivers front Coilover.
