Leather in a sport edition?

I'm in the market for a used T4R and had a quick question..

Were leather seats ever available in a Sport Edition? I'm looking at a 2004...looks to be immaculate, but it's got leather seats, and I found that kinda of strange for a sport....I thought you could only get this option in a limited...at least that's what Toyota's site currently shows. Thanks!

I got them installed as a option in my '09 Sport. heated too !!!

My Sport came with the liquicell leather seats, which is installed once it arrives to a southern port and the leather is soo nice. its the only reason i got this one

Leather in a Sport is not factory, but a well-done aftermarket job is still nice.

I've seen some port installed two-toned leather installs in my area...very sharp. I would check the install though just to make sure they got it right and that the seats don't have any unwelcome noises/rattles. I installed leather seat covers on my old '97 SR5 which was easy except getting the door panels to look right was a PITA. The kits go for pretty cheap on Ebay..around 400$

Unfortunately I've only seen it in pictures, but it looks pretty nice. I'll ask the seller if they had it installed.

I have the dealer installed leather and I hate it. It is holding up really poorly. I wish they would have installed the Liquicell seats as they are much much nicer. I didnt understand that was not what they were installing when I told them I wanted leather. Oh well, live and learn.

I believe leather was a factory option on the 4th gen Sports from '03-'05. I think they discontinued that option on the Sports in '06.

I learned the hard way as well. I was expecting liquid cell seats with the option I chose but got leather "wrapped" seats. I'm still pissed about that. Anyone know what liquid cells cost as dealer option ?

My 2008 Sport V8 2WD, that I bought new, has dealer installed liquicell leather. My understanding, at the time I bought my Sport, was that the liquicell leather could be added at the port or at the dealer.

It's nice.

For what it's worth, those looks exactly like my interior. I've got a 2006 Sport with heated leather seats. I bought it used however, and never thought to ask if the leather was factory or not. When i was researching, I wanted a limited just to get the leather (I have a 2 year old), but liked the sport model (cheaper, hood scoop). Just lucked out that the one i found was the best of both worlds (for me anyway).

I've got an '03 Sport with black leather seats. It looks factory to me.

Leather seats is a factory option for Sport Editions. I wanted just about everything that the limited had without paying for the limited name. I have leather and sunroof all factory in my '06 Sport 4x4 V8. The only thing that I don't have compared to the limited is the adjustable suspension air bags.

The seats in the pics look like after market leather from a company called Classic Soft Trim. I have them in my Sport too, added them myself, uncle works at Toyota and he told me where they get it done. Went there myself and saved 1 week time as well as several hundred dollars. Not as soft or rugged as factory but better than cloth.
