Leather interior

I recently got a 1998 4runner Limited for my 16th birthday, and the interior of it is in great shape. Unlike most teens, i am obsessed with keeping my 4runner clean and in good shape. I was wondering if anyone had suggestions on ways to care for the leather so that it stays nice looking. On the drivers seat, like the part closest to the door, there is some wear, and i would like to know if anyone has any suggestions on how to prevent more wear.

Hey there! Welcome and congrats on your 4Runner! I was also obsessed (and still am) with cleaning my cars.

For leather, I'd recommend using Leatherique. It's pretty much a mail-order product, but it's the best. It's not your regular cleaner/conditioner, it actually brings life back into leather. It's not a miracle product and can't remove the wrinkles/cracks, but it can lessen their appearance. I usually use the two Leatherique products once a year and clean and condition once every few weeks with either Zaino Z9 & Z10 or Einszett Leather Care. The Lexol products are also very good

Here are some links that might help you understand the products I've listed:

Leatherique Rejuvenator Oil
Leatherique Pristine Clean
Leatherique 16 oz. Kit
Leatherique.com
1Z Leather Care
Zaino: Z-10 Leather in a Bottle

Better Car Care - Cockpit Care

I hope this helps you out!

I've always liked Zymol products myself. I use the leather cleaner most every week, package says safe to use a lot and it seems to be true, and condition them every few months. Just remember when you condition, it is best if the seats are hot, that way the conditioner can be absorbed better. Either leave it in the sun or you can warm them with a hair dryer, but conditioning them cold is not as effective and you will just wipe most of the product right off.

Any of the products mentioned here should work well. Only because it hasn't been mentioned, I'll throw in Lexol Leather cleaning/conditioning products. Another fine duo is the 4 Star Ultimate leather cleaner, and Ultimate leather conditioner.
