LED Fog Lights

I apologize if I have posted this before because quite honestly I forget it I posted or just thought about posting this. What I was wondering about is if anyone has used yellow LED bulbs in their fog lights. This application is on a 2003 Limited with the projector lights. What I was wondering about is of the beam pattern is how it should be. Daniel Stern id absolutely against it which I pretty much figured he would be. I was just wondering if anyone here has tried it and mar have a review or beam pics to share. I really don't want to use the film on the outside of the lamps since I think it looks kind of "trashy" on the 2003 style lights. The newer round ones would look good though. May do that on my mother's Impreza (regular, not Sti, of course). I just happen to like the yellow lights in the fogs due to experience of them working better. The Piaa Ion Crystal bulbs I had in another vehicle (bike) was wonderful but those are far too expensive. Please share any thoughts or experiences. Sorry about the long and somewhat rambling post but it is last and the meds are thinking for me

if you want yellow bulbs, stick with halogen, good cheap bulb is nokya, if you want a deeper color, apply some amber film over the fog light lens, you get a deeper color thats even better than the yellow from the lights itself.

Ok thanks. I followed your advise and ordered a set of Nokyas. They should be here in a few days so I wll have to wait to see how they work out. In my old Bronco I had a set of plain amber running lights across the grill just for looks. I got caught in a bad snow storm on my way home to NJ from Maine. With the headlights on I couldn't see a damn thing. Being pretty much the only vehicle on the road I turned them off and just used the running lights to see. It was SO much better. So that is why I am kind of biased towards yellow fog lights...

For the price they are cheap. At 20 or so dollars
You can also get hella optilux xy bulbs too. But they are not yellow enough.
Osram makes one too but it's about double the price I think it's call foul weather bulbs.
I run there all season bulb in the highs, gives it a yellow orange halogen color when I flash. It gets notice better than the white.

I have Nokya in my STI and my wifes fog lights. I recommend them, nice color and brighter than stock. If you have an issue, keep a receipt and email them per the nokya website and they will quickly replace anything that breaks or goes out.

HID are well out of my price range. And the filiment it is id=s is not in the ideal placement for the lenses...

I just hope that eh ones I bought area a proper selective yellow that cut through fog, rain, and snow. I will be doing the mod so only he fogs can n b used. Obviously when I am mostly the only the only one on the road..

add some amber film over the fogs and use a yellow bulb in there, a 3000k hid bulb works too, just got to make sure its ac ballast, with dc ballast, the bulb will be green still and crap out.

Do you think it would be a bad idea to modify a set of 65w 9005 bulbs for these projector application? They are generally high beam bulbs and do not have the shield on the front of the bulb. I want them to be bright enough to be more useful but also don't want them to be blinding to other drivers. As said above they will be used in factory 2003 projector fog lights. Due to price HIDs are completely out of the question. I am not putting them in for looks, It is pure function. Maybe the unshielded front of the bulb on the 9005 will cause problems? Just been wondering if anyone here has experience doing this. I will probably try out the 9006 and see how hey look seeing that is what I ordered first. Been trying to find answers but it seems like most people online where I look lust seem to be ricers who just want the look...
