LED Fogs

Hey Guys,

I'm looking to replace my OEM fogs and I'm between two products. I'm thinking of installing the H16 PHILIPS X-TREME ULTINON LED FOG BULB or the Rigid Industries DOT/SAE Fog Lights.

Has anyone had any experiences with either? Thanks for the recommendations!

The Rigid lights will be substantially better. There is an entire thread about them that should be on either page one or two here.

Unfortunately I can't give you much more info. I haven't received or installed them yet and I'm out to sea for another 2.5 weeks. There are people on here with these units though, Saker, and they've been recommended to me by other people as well. With my past raptor, I had experience with rigid and baja etc and the thing about "dot approved" is they're still really dang bright. So I ordered this projector unit so I get the clean and bright cut off.

I will as soon as I get home in a couple weeks. I was actually searching through threads and saw an example of the rigid dots and I guess they do have a good cut off. If you go with rigids, make sure to post pics and a review as well. They're a great brand, but I just associate them with offroad lighting only

I have them installed in mine and could not be happier, have driven in fog, in clouds at high altitudes and through blizzards. Very bright, very crisp and for the most part not that difficult to install, just expect a few scratches on the arms is all.

Did you get the yellow film to go on them?

scratches? did you pull the bumper for install? or go in from the fender? i watched a video for pulling the bumper and it look fairly quick and easy.

I did not go with the yellow film being when I am off road I prefer more usable light than what the yellow lights would offer. Have had yellow in the past on other 4x4's and did not like them for my use.

I installed from under the fender, did not take much time maybe 30 minutes total.

Interesting. All personal preference then. I had a 20" Baja Amber S8 on my Raptor and that thing cut fog, rain, and dust 100x better than any white light. I'll try the yellow and if it doesn't suit my needs then I can just peel it off. I'm hoping my headlight upgrade will be enough so that it won't need to be supplemented by the fogs, because yellow isn't going to work well for those purposes.

I have the yellow bulbs and I haven't had any problems yet. I haven't had any heavy rain at night or snow yet to really tell if they are worth it.

TN_TEP16 do you have any pics of front illumination with just the fogs? The kit I got is just white bulbs with a yellow film, but I imagine the output and pattern is similar

I'm using these H-11 LEDs. They're super bright, well focused in the stock fog-light housings, install time (for both) is 20 minutes and cost's only $59.99 at Amazon... comes with FREE S&H:

I'd have to disconnect the low beams to get that pic. Maybe tomorrow.

I got the yellow Phillips LEDs and they were bright yellow for about 2 weeks and now faded to gross golden halogen. Need to try something else
