LED Fogs

Holy cow that's awesome. I'm definitely going to get the yellow then. I bet that cuts through rain and fog better than any white light out there. Thank you TN_TEP16

Hey Guys,

I'm looking to replace my OEM fogs and I'm between two products. I'm thinking of installing the H16 PHILIPS X-TREME ULTINON LED FOG BULB or the Rigid Industries DOT/SAE Fog Lights.

Has anyone had any experiences with either? Thanks for the recommendations!

I had the XB LED fogs before and now I have the Rigid DOT/SAE Lights. I honestly like both but like the Rigid more. The Rigid seem to give out more light output than the XB, but isn't super wide as the XB. The XB is a tab wider but isn't as bright as Rigid. Both are easy to install under the bumper.

Here's the link to the Rigid and photos of the light output.

Hope it helps you with picking

Thanks kevinmai712 I appreciate the input. Sounds like I can't go wrong either way. I think right now I'm leaning towards the XB because it looks like it fills out the fog housing better than the Rigids. Just out of curiousity, did you happen to sell off your XB fogs already?

Sorry man, I sold it to my friend but if you go to the retrofit source there's a coupon code that should still work it's " steadymobbin " and I think it's 15-20% off.

No worries kevinmai712 just thought I would ask. Btw solid write up on the Rigid install. You got a nice looking rig!

I just ordered the XBs yesterday, with the yellow film. I like the wide swath, and I'm not too concerned if they aren't as bright as the Rigids. Being bright is what the head lights are for! I'm hoping the yellow helps break up the fog and rain here in Florida to help with visibility

I ended up going with the Morimoto XB LED fogs from TRS and just received them in the mail today. I was trying to find the install thread for the fogs, but couldn't find the specific thread with pics I was looking for. I thought it was a post by Saker .

Anyways, I just wanted to clarify the install before I start tearing things apart on my SR5....Can I access the fog light housing by removing the 3 bolts in the fender liner? Or is it best to remove the front bumper completely?

I hope to have everything installed this weekend with some good pics.

Thanks for the help guys!

It wasn't me !!!

I think this will help....
The write up was by matoolie, he did a great write up!
I didn't remove the front cover. Removed some liner bolts and pulled it back.
Read the whole thread to get the best approach.

I was able to replace mine just by sliding my hand up from under the bumper. The passenger side has a protective cover, which makes it a bit more fun, but possible.

Haha thanks Saker . I guess I thought it was yours because your rig is awesome! I'm slowly working my way up to your level.

Thank you kind sir!

Just don't let it get you in trouble with the wife.
I keep getting "Is the UPS/FedEx/Mail Carrier bringing you a package for the 4Runner today?"

I always say no, until one shows up at the door! :sorry:

I have the yellow bulbs and I haven't had any problems yet. I haven't had any heavy rain at night or snow yet to really tell if they are worth it.

Are these the yellow Phillips LEDs ?

Baja Designs has a kit as well for their Squadron-R Sport & Pro models. Check out this post. I've got the same kit sitting here waiting to be installed when I take the bumper off for the SSO bumper install.
