Led for HVAC displays

I tried www.superbrightleds.com and those didn't work. I found some others but can't come up with where. Looking for sources for this panel again.

I'm on the hunt as well...I'd like to do the gauges too but I'm too chicken to bust it open...the lights are all too dim.

Which ones didn't work? All mine from superbright worked, except for the LCD screen. FYI, LEDs have polarity, so if it doesn't work one way reverse it and try again. Also, some of the connections were a little finicky, and wouldn't seat right without some maneuvering.

I think instead of the NEO3-HP that superbright sells, you need to use 3mm round tops... take out the old bulb then run the 3mm led in the plastic piece, put back in...

Mine worked from superbrightleds, that's where I get all my LED bulbs. They're polarized and only work 1 way. Also you have to file down the bulb socket to get the larger bulb bases to fit.

^ this. just swapped mine this past weekend w/ the superbrightleds NEO3-WHP 3mm (seems they don't carry the non hi power in white anymore). definitely had bad luck w polarity, more than half of them i was having to take back out and reinstall 180 deg. if you're lazy like me, no need to file them, just a little finessing

Edit: my mistake, didnt see you were talking about the display specifically. that would be neo4, but like cookie mentions it takes a little extra modification. check out the led swap thread started by darkie3495 (and prepare to be overwhelmed by the almost 100 pages of info lol)

Toyota for some reason does low voltage for their HVAC screens. My brother's RAV4 is the same thing, only his is worse b/c when you wear polarized sunglasses, the screen completely disappears. FAIL. In my 4Runner, they don't, nevertheless, it's very dim.

Only tried and true way is to do the 12V mod. Basically you hard wire (one way to do it) the 2 LEDs that light up the HVAC screen to a powered wire (pick one,l I wired mine to the radio power) to get the wanted brightness. You loose dimming, but that doesn't appear to bother anyone.
