LED Headlight Help

Today I installed a set of the 2006-2009 style headlights on my 2005 4Runner. I am having an issue with the auto-off feature not working. It's a sport edition so it doesn't have automatic headlights, however, it used to still turn them off automatically after about a minute if I did not turn them off. Now with the LED bulbs that I installed, they are not turning off on their own. They will also not turn off by pressing the lock button twice which they used to. Does anyone know why this would be? I am assuming that it is something with the reduced amount of power being drawn through the relay but I don't know.

I can't help you with your problem...

but do you mind posting some more pics of your setup? It looks great. I am really leaning towards just buying cheaper LED headlight bulbs vs. an HID set.

Don't get LEDs... I have them in my 06 and I like the cooler light from them, however they lack the "hot spot" that HIDs have to actually throw the light far. The LEDs are good at creating a nice even wash of light, it's just not very bright if that makes sense. Also, one of the diodes on my drivers side LED is yellow now only being a couple months old. I will soon be upgrading to XenonDepot HID kit.

Have you done any OTHER lighting mods? I run LEDs and similar housings, but I had a problem that might be related, when I did the fog light+high beam mod that I cant find the link for at the moment.

My problem was (is) that if the headlight switch is set to "auto" and the fog light switch is on, the headlights stay on after I shut the engine off and lock it.

My solution is that I just leave the headlights in the "on" position or "off" position, and pretend auto doesnt exist.

I am unimpressed with the LED's but it may be due to me using some bulbs that were on the cheaper end. I may end up trying some others that have good reviews that are about twice as much money.

Welp, I tried. Maybe they're just bad LEDs.

I have 2 sets that are branded as "Cougar Motors" on Amazon that I'm happy with. I've never had HIDs, and can only compare to the sylvania bulbs I used to have.
