LED headlights?

Hey guys, im pretty new to the forum just been looking around. However I have had my runner for about 3 years give or take a few months. I have already done some modifications such as suspension. But I was scared to do it myself so I had a shop do it (it only cost me my first born child) I want to start putting some of my own effort into my rig and not just my money. I figured changing headlights and interior lights to LED's would be somewhat straightforward and build my confidence a little. From looking around I see lots of forums on LED interior lights but I haven't been able to find a good forum on LED headlights, if there is any. Or maybe I'm just missing them? Any info from more experienced guys would be a huge help! and please step by step I'm not extremely technically inclined...yet! Thanks in advance everyone!

Welcome!
Search "LED headlights" - will give lots of results, including this:

Thank you I will look into them!

Also why do they suck, just wondering. They look bright enough but do they not last or something like that?

They aren't going to focus and you aren't going to be able to see. Stick the the interior LED upgrades where light diffusion doesn't matter. Any different type of bulb in a stock housing isn't going to work simply because they weren't designed for it.

OK thank you for the clarification! So are 3rd gen owners pretty much stuck with old school yellow looking lights? I got a pair of "white" lights at pep boys a while back but was really not impressed with their performance or their look... Anyone have an idea for brighter and whiter lights?

Unless you want buy or build new housings yes you are stuck. The PIAA's Brian mentioned are popular but I have no experience with anything other than stock.

You can do a projector retrofit like a lot of us have done, It makes you feel like your headlights aren't from a 1947 Plymouth.

Any and all info can be found here;

The Retrofit Source Inc

I would go with the Mini D2S 3.0 kit, it is new this year and rivals the FX-R retrofits alot of us do.

Perfect thank you very much I appreciate the help! Im going to check out those links. My lights have just been bothering me for some reason lately...

If you have a 96-98 upgrading to the 99-02 style headlights with clear lenses is a major improvement, then you have bulbs like the GE nighthawk or Silverstars to get the most light output possible from Halogens, other than that, a retrofit is the way to go.
