LED interior mod 96-98

this is the intereior led swap mod for 1996-98 4runners, lights include maps lights dome light and cargo light

first map lights, take off the little plastic clip where my finger is, a sharp knife is best but a skinny flat head will work too

then use your finger pull toward you the cover will pop off

this is the inside, take off the stock bulbs carefully, dont push the bulbs into the plastic pull down while using a knife to push back the metal clips

dome light, using a knife to pop open the cover the bulb is right under

cargo light, there is a small notch just big enough for a tip of a knife, insert knift and carefully pry open the cover

all 4 bulbs are the same 30 mm

you can find led replacement on ebay for cheap, they do ship from china so expect to wait a long time.

very nice man, i was thinking about doing 3 lep strips zip tied under the hood just in case rig has trouble on the trail or the road

Does changing the map lights out make a big difference? I would like to see a before and after shot of just those lights.

yes any color you want just make sure they are 30mm or 31mm

Hopefully you guys already knew how to change the bulbs in your trucks. If not, you have some acquainting to do.

I upgraded in the 99 interior with the 25 LED superflux ozniums. It's like the sun in my 4Runner Both map lights and both dome lights.

Works in the pre99 dome lights if you want. Takes some cutting and such, but if you have basic competence, you should be able to do this.

Oznium LEDs in the map lights must be insane. Which one did you go with COB?

I have the 25 in my dome light and that sucker is bright.
