LED kits for 5th generation 4runner(Help needed)

Did you in fact quit selling these packages?
 
My LED kit just came in. I'm going to try to install it tonight. I'll let you know how it goes!

EDIT: By the way, I just had this interaction with my girlfriend -

Just finished the install. Took 30 minutes from start to finish and it was super easy. Very happy with the results!

I'm interested I. A kit so_led. Sent iu a pm but the system seems to be acting screwy.


Do any of you bros know where to score Japanese or American made led's? I don't mind the. Added expense. I'm just getting sick of buying inferior Chinese crap that always breaks
 
@username - Cree is a very high quality LED. The company is US based (NC I think) and has a long track record for quality LEDs. They are a bit pricey, but well worth it. I am in the process of building an LED lighting rig for my fish tank and it's the way I'm going. As far as I can tell, everything else is Chinese knock offs.

Side note - I recently replaced the rear hatch panels (9 smb) with 18 smb modules and they are even better. Well worth it to upgrade the back hatch lights.

Bruce, I think that the wire falling off(mod you referred to) is a case by case basis. Sometimes they come off but 99% of the time they wont unless tugged on, either way I am getting the wire problem fixed as I stated above

That method works as the panels are pretty thin, but I am coming up with a lexan filler piece that can go on the back of the panels and keep the panel flat. Currently in the design process on that and there will be no extra charge for it if it gets added to the LED kits

Did you ever get this lexan panel done? Is it now included in the kits? Also you said you were working with your suppliers addressing some wire connectivity issues. Did these issues get resolved? If so, I will be placing an order. I just want to make sure I get the most-up-to-date kit

Would want to add the reverse and license plate lights also.

will standar 921 5w cree bulbs work for reverse lights? should I get the ones with the convex lens over them or the non lens versions?
 
Hello nice job on the LED's it looks like they are stuck with 3M tape into the bulb housing is that correct?
If they are does the tape hold well in the heat? I live in Vegas and in the summer it gets over 100 degrees and inside the car it gets WAY hotter, would this heat and an adverse effect on the tape holding the LED's in place?

Alright, thanks to Jhawk, the 5th gen kit is now set! Price will be $70 shipped Conus, add $4.50 for the LP lights. Here is the kit in action:cowboy: There is a wait list but I will likely be ready to ship out 40 kits for the 5th gen 4runner this week(week of 11/14/11)
