LED light strips on new cars - I hate 'em

Must be the new fashion to put light strips that act as white DRL's in the headlight housings. Hate them, too bright, too crooked and wavy.

And what's worse when they blink the turn signal blinker the light strips turn off (but only on that turn signal blink side of the car).

Who made this style decision ? ugly ugly

I think it was either BMW (angel eyes) or Audi that started it...to distinguish their high end cars...but now, everyone (even aftermarket) has jumped on the band wagon. We are a bunch of lemmings...

The new Viper has 'em too. It works on some cars but most it doesn't and now with cheap LED strips being slapped on older cars (and poorly done) it's getting worse.

Some cars it looks good on, and others just shouldn't be allowed..
I think all the factory installed ones look pretty decent, it's the after market ones that look like sh!t..


A friend of mine put those ones that turn off and blink with turn signal in his Taco. It looks ok.. They call them "switchbacks"

BMW was the first to have the "angel eyes"

The BMW angel eyes and the Audi LEDs look pretty cool, they fit. All the others that I've seen, like Chrysler, Kia, etc look like hammered poo.

I like the AMG approach on the newer Mercedes:

All of the new AMG's have it and it looks damn good.

There was some type of small Black Cross Over type SUV following me on my way home last week that had the AMG type strips for DRLs.

It looked pretty cool. Might make a good mod if the LED strips can be found for a descent price.

I think they look cool on higher end cars like all the audi's. Only thing I don't like, not sure if its the same thing for audi's, but I saw it on a kia, the turn signals are those led lights, so they stay on and then they blink.

the LED's on the Audi's turn yellow for turn signal indicator. mine dont though because theyre retrofits...

I liked the new led designs in modern cars and decided to incorporate it into my 4runner when I did the projector retrofit. I think it makes good use of the area between the headlights and bumper without looking cheesy. Was about $100 from recon leds.

That's actually pretty tasteful and doesn't look too out of place on your truck.

U know i started a led strip mod thread here, i think i did my led strip right, not cheap and cheesy, and overly done.
