I use 18ga wire. Also the $65 kit has only one switch and the $67 has two switches. The $75 kit is a completely different kit from the hood kits

So what's the $75 kit for? Is it for the rocker panels?

Another happy customer. Finally installed my LED under hood kit yesterday. I was a 5th gen beta tester and included pics of my pin switch location and wire routing. Like pjbrownva states in post #92. This is a high quality kit. All you do is test fit, stick, route wires, install pin switch and connect to battery. I had no issues with the high quality terminals.
Happy to answer any questions. I then used my new LEDs to install the TRD CAI. It was great, didn't need my headlamp like I normally need working under a hood!

Pin switch location. The furthest right side (battery side) shroud attachment. Just replace the plastic clip with your pin switch. I chose this spot because it was close to the battery, the body hole was exactly the right size (the switch actually loosely threads into the hole). And there were minimal modifications to the 4Runner. I only enlarged the hole in the plastic shroud. At first, I tried to avoid modifying the shroud but found out I did need to adjust the height of the pin switch and didn't want to pull the shroud on and off to do so.

The one con with this location is the limited access to the underside nut. A steep angle with an open end wrench and flipping the wrench after each 1/4 turn with a mirror to see what you are doing did the trick.

When selecting the pin switch location I loosely installed it and put chalk on the top to see where it would contact the hood when closed.

Make sure you remove the paint to bare metal for a good ground.

Here you can see the wire routing. I also went under the hood pad at the corners of the light strips.

Here is the wire routing from the hood down the hole by the hinge and along the inside wall to the battery.

The fuse.

Mine got in yesterday, but I was out putting my 4Runner to good use till this evening. Install was really quick, except I can't get the switch to work, is there a trick to wiring this switch? I'm using a blues seas fuse block instead of the in line fuse. Positive from the LEDs to the switch, and from the fuse block to the switch. And negative grounded? im using another switch i had laying around and it works how I have it wired, so wither the switch is bad, or I don't know how to operate this switch.

Your switch has two posts correct ( I had three post switches go out to some member's by accident) it simply could be just a bad switch. Are you using the same connectors on the other switch you had laying around?

Yeah I got a two prong. I'm currently using a three prong, but the third pron is just the ground for the switch's light. I tried both ways, but neither worked.
