Nah, I have the slide and turn style HVAC.
I'm not too worried about it I guess. It's a pretty small detail.

Did anyone else have trouble (like I am) with getting the neo wedge type A's to work in the rear window up/down switch and the one for the ECT and the defrost button? I put my new bulbs in and it seemed like it was a really tight fit and it felt like I would ruin the bulbs if I tried to twist them into place with a screwdriver. I'm really frustrated and I already destroyed one bulb!!!!:bash: PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!

after one whole day of installing and some stupid (hopefuly minor) damage i did all mine, ill post some pics tonight. i broke the HVAC board and had to buy some LED's from pepboys to replace and wire them into a hot lead. also my neutral safety switch is giving me problems, its my fault though the LED's didn't do anything to that. just know the little shifter handle does not come off so dont twist it!! :bonk:
and yeah i had problems with my tye A's working, in that same spot. switch them around and put them in the other way (there should only be 2 ways) but ya give that a try and see what happens. thats what fixed mine.
my question i have is on the shifter does the light kind of apear a little green still? I put a white tri-led in there

I don't want to start a new thread yet so I'll just ask my question here.
On a '98 how do you get to the map lights and the visor light. I think the visor one should be easy, just put a flat head in there and pry up.
Which size lights go in these spots?

hey clemson, i dont know if you have tried this but this forum on yota tech has helped me on the LED's and i know its a long forum but i read somewhere in there about the how to, and the sizes of those lights your looking for here it is

If it's anything like the digital HVAC board, the LEDs I bought had to be slightly modified to fit the holes. Basically, I took a dremel tool with a cut-off wheel and *very carefully* trimmed the wedge locks just a bit. The board is a little thicker than the neo-wedge bulb is designed for.

oh wierd, ok ill look arond see what i can find, its the lights on the top that you have to push to turn on right?

i know this thread is for LED's ill take a pic when it gets darker with the lights on but someone on here did this mod and i loved it. i painted the guage bezel and its pretty darn close to the trim in the truck. it doesn't look like it in the pic but i swear its very close!! what do yall think?

So can anyone shed some light on how to access the map lights in order to swap them out for LEDs?
Also: what's the difference between these two #74 LEDs? Which one would be better?
