LED Map & Dome Light Mod!!!

I know they'll fit perfectly on a 3rd Gen. because the featured pics seems to be a 4Runner!

25 LEDs you can't get any brighter than that, I'm going to order 4 or them as soon as I get the money..

i did the same for my dome light. i took it out. it shined a spot light straight down and the rest of the interior was dark.

Well right now this is what I have for my dome & trunk lights.

And this is what I have for my map lights, but I want to upgade to the 25 LEDs to make it a lot brighter.

Fo_Sheezy, before you spend the money on the 25 LED dome light, please measure the area where the map light is before you buy. I was thinking the same thing about getting the 25 LED, brighter, DUH!!! But I went out to my 2000 4Runner Limited and took the measurements and the 25 LED won't fit. Depending on what year you have that is. Now it won't fit in my ride because I have a moonroof as well and between the moonroof controls and the two map lights, there is no space for a 25 LED. I think the 16 LED will fit though. It better because I just ordered two 16 LEDs for my map light.

Yeah man there's no way I ever order anything without making sure it will work 100%. I'm sure the 25 won't fit either because I have the sunroof controls there as well.

I guess you guys are doing this for looks. I think the map lights are pretty bright. I replaced my rear cargo light with a 10 watt bulb and I wouldn't mind having a brighter LED setup. Thanks for the link.

Yeah it is kind of for looks, I just can't stand the cheap look a stock bulb puts off, I think the White LED's.. put off a luxury look, you know?

Those are pretty cool. That made me think of a question I had. Does anyone know it they make LED oem fit replacement bulbs for the brake and tail light bulb that would fit on a 1996 toyota 4runnner. I have only found where the light is for just turn signals and not brake and tail light. Thanks.

Yes, I believe they do. I have attached the links, but you have to realize one thing though....LEDs consume alot less power than a regular stock bulb. Therefore, everything that requires a flasher such as turn signals or brake lights that require a certain input would not work because you are not applying the right amount of voltage. If you just replace the bulbs with LEDs, and you activate the turn signals, they would flash like crazy because of the higher voltage being applied. The websites that I have attached sell flasher kits and load boxes so you could have LED brakes lights and tail lights. Personally, it is a hassle. I do plan on changing out the interior lighting but the exterior lighting especially the rear of the truck I will leave stock for safety reasons. Hope it helps.

Does anyone know the part number for the bulbs that light up the license plate? Like to put a couple of white led bulbs to replace the dull yellowish ones.

the bulb size for the license plate is 2825. you are gonna have to cross reference that bulb size with the white LEDs you are trying to get. By the way, that bulb size is for a 2000 4Runner, I am not sure about the other years but I don't think it is different.

Fo_Sheezy...Oznium had a problem with their supplier so I did not receive the 16 LED Dome Light. Instead I am getting the the flexible one on their website. I finally got the shipping confirmation. It is about 5 bucks more than the regular 16 LEDs and supposedly thinner and brighter. Will post pics as soon as I get them in.

Yeah I was talking to Phil (the owner, who also drives a 2000 4Runner) about the thinner LED dome light and he referred that to me instead of the superflux, so that's what I'm going to order when I get the money!

Here we go, I finally got my 25 LED Dome light from oznium. It had been back ordered since December 16. Got it installed today and it's bright as hell. I would definitely suggest this if you're looking for a light upgrade:
