LED Running/Day lights Mod 1998 SR5

does anybody have any knowledge about the switchback LEDs from V-LEDs that go into the front turn signals on the bumper? it looks as though they plug right in and no further wiring is required but im not sure. has anybody had any luck with these?

I've had them for a couple years. They need to be wired. You need to buy new sockets which you can get from ebay for around 5 bucks. They have 3 wires coming out. You connect 2 of them to the existing blinker wires and then the third is the the power for the drl white light that you connect to a wire that has power when the ignition is on.

oh ok thanks i was confused as to how these things work but that would make sense. i did some more searching and i think this is more what i was looking for. looks like it comes with a harness and relays. but i don't think the factory housings for the turn signals are very reflective like the corner or headlights are. is that a problem or would clear lenses work?

I have a tower type bulb similar to your first post. They discontinued that bulb though. I have the 99 blinkers so the bulb sizes are different I believe between the 96-98 and 99-02. The only thing they have now for the 99-02 is the v3 triton which is kind of expensive to me but are supposed to be the brightest possible. I paid $35 for my bulbs from vleds. If you don't have clear blinkers, I would recommend them if you do get these since the stock blinkers outer lens is the reflective orange, and the clear blinkers would have a more reflective inside than the stock blinkers for a '98.

that's kinda what i thought about the housings for those turn signals. yea looks like ill be close to $200 for this little upgrade might have to wait a bit considering i just ordered my HIDs. thanks for the help man! i'll post a pic to this thread if and when i decide to do it.
