Led Strip Headlight

Has anyone modded their headlights with an led strip inside of it, sort of like Audis? I haven't seen any pics so far on this site and I was wondering how it would look.

Not yet, not here at least. I think those are useless and look silly. They look like they belong on X-mas tree.

They usually looks good on cars with HIDs, but I'm not sure about the suv thats why I was wondering.

The new Range Rovers has one of those strips that wraps around the projectors. Personally i think its over played and looks dumb.

The newer range rovers are supposed to have them. I thought I saw a newer Audi Q7 with them. I guess it's the trend. They are more on "higher end" cars/SUVs. A 4Runner would look silly with them.

The other day I saw a 2nd gen Taco with aftermarket headlights that had both halos and the LED strip. Talk about devaluing the truck.

i didnt put them IN the headlights. caus i thought it would blur the leds. instead i stuck them directly on the bumber facing forward. i love it haha

I think they look awesome on the new Audi's, and I like the look on the new Benz as well...not so sure I like the look of those on the 3rd gen, but to each their own.

As far as I understand the entire purpose of the LED strips (not to be confused with actual LED headlights... not that you would...) on Audi, Mercedes, ect is to function as DRLs.

It was fresh and cool when Audi first did it, now with all the aftermarket lights and Chrysler jumping in with the 200 (ex-sebring, not LED's but same concept) it's been copied to death.

If I had an Audi I'd be so annoyed by all the copycats after dumping that kind of cash on a car.

I hate that LED strip. The other day, I saw an older BMW 5 series had LED strips ALL over the front end.

That's right...n um that's what we do folks innovate:wtf:.. that's what I did with my suspension. I think it would look good just depends how u do it..I personally think if u follow the contours of the housing in white it would look good.

The LED DRL's that come on the Audis look awesome to me. But the aftermarket ones you buy on eBay just look horrid, in my opinion.

I think they belong in Audi BMW? My isf has them they look okay but better in Audi Porsche Mercedes they all have led now. And does anyone know if 295 fit 4th gen no one has pics. I posted in the wheel section no reply but people reply to led strips on a 4runner lol

i have heard that the LED strips as DRL's are all actually made by hyundai and sold to other companys like audi and chrysler. dont quote me on that but thats what ive heard.

I have to admit, I'm not a fan..............BUT, if you can take your headlights apart and put them on the inside of the clear lens, that would be different. The strip is longer than the bottom part of the headlight, IS the strip flexible??? If so, bend it so the strip runs up along the grille side of the light. All done, it would look like an "L" OR adhere the strip to the TOP part of the headlight all the while you still have a small amount running down the side (grill side). THAT would be really different and cool.

theres actually enough room between the ridge/lip of the headlight and the filler piece at the buttom. im thinkin about it , using these LOW PROFILE LED strips 60 cm
or these
LED strips 24cm Audi R8 A4 S4 A5 S5 A6 S6

Inside the len assembly then it MIGHT be cool lookin....but in all honesty, i wouldnt want it on my 4Runners.
