Lemon of a 4Runner

Wow, you must be charmed. I've never heard of anything like this happening before. For those who don't live within ear-shot of you, maybe we can use your case as precedent if we ever run into a lemon.
Oh, and you know you have to post some pictures of that oh-so-sweet '06.

inching forward....
Well, I'm going to Little Rock this weekend to lay my eyes on this new Nautical Blue Metalic and compare it to my Stratosphere Mica. They had 4 there on Monday, so I figured they'd have at least one still there by this Saturday. I just need to see the color with my own eyes. I just don't trust the colors in the borchures or on the web. After I decide about the color, I'm going back to the dealer and order my new '06.

verdict is in!
I went to Little Rock yesterday and saw the new Nautical Blue Metalic for myself. The color is almost identical to the Stratosphere Mica!! Whew! I was getting worried that I'd have to give up my color to get an 06. I really couldn't tell any difference at all. It may be just a tad darker if anything.
So, I came back here and found an 06 on a boat from Japan that was close to what I wanted. It didn't have leather or heated seats or the Vehicle Shield package. So my dealer called the dealer it was suppose to go for, traded on of his for it and changed the options on it. So when it gets to port, they will put leather, heated seats and Vehicle Shield package on it, then ship it to my local dealer. It should be here by the first week of November.
Now I just have to deal with Toyota Finance to get the substitution of collateral done. Plus I have to take my NAV out and put the original radio back in. But, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!!

Leather vs. Cloth
Consider keeping the cloth.
My last 4 vehicles had leather....with the 4runner we went with the cloth and we are glad we did.
It is exceptionally nice cloth...some kind of woven texture which looks fantastic and feels even better. We like it better than the other vehicles which have leather.

My new 4Runner should be here sometime next week. However, I'm going to have to wait until all the paper work is done through the regional Toyota office. That might take up to 2 weeks. I'm going to take the NAV out tomorrow and put the original radio back in.
Oh, you'll never guess what happened Thursday morning. I was driving to work and looked down at my speedometer and it read 0 MPH!!!! The dang thing stopped working. All of the other guages are working fine. I took it to the dealer and they said it would take quite a while to fix it and they didn't know if Toyota would even want them to fix it since it's being replaced. So, I've just got to "guess" at what speed I'm going. I used the NAV to figure out where 60, 65 and 70 were on my tach, so I should be ok. Just hope nothing else goes wrong with this thing before I get my new one.

I was offered a buy-back or replacement with a mileage charge (I had 18K miles), so I refused and had a hearing with GM under the Lemon Law to buy back a vehicle at the FULL purchase price. I won the case and got back the full purchase price. You still may want to talk to an attorney.

Got my new 06!!
Well, I finally got my new 4Runner last week! Man, I really don't want to go through this crap again. Lots of red tape. Long drawn out process. However, I love my new 06 SR5!!!! I've already put the NAV and XM in the new one. Thanks to everyone for their comments and support!!
