Les Schwab Refused To Mount My Tires

Have any of you had this experience?

I stopped at Les Schwab today going home from work to get a quote to mount, balance, etc. I told them I bought new tires from internet (i.e. tire rack, etc) brand new. He told me that he would NOT mount these tires. He gave me some BS about because of "liabilities", etc. I told him that the other Les Schwab did it for me before (is LS a franchise...?). He said that "some" places will do it.

I went home and did a internet search and called Firestone (even closer to my house) and told him that I got these off the internet and he said no problem.

I've heard that since they make such a high mark up on "their" tires; they have a problem mounting anything else.

Just had to vent...2cents :roadkill:

Find a new shop. There are plenty that will be happy to charge you to mount and balance those tires.

LS will not touch carry in parts, trust me ive been told it to myself

I had LS in San Carlos mount my KM2's I bought elsewhere with no issues.

It was really straight thing, I went to Elk Grove LS a few months ago - no problem (they did a great job). Then, yesterday, I go to the one in Sacramento (off 50) and he says "can't do it". I told him that that other one did it. What's the diff? He had no good response. Whatever - I found another installer.

I had the same problem with a couple smaller tire shops, they wouldn't install them because they didn't have "insurance" and told me to go to a larger tire shop, I went to NTB and got raped
