Let 'er rip?

Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems that when my new Limited crossed 1,400 miles, it got a lot peppier. Could there be some kind of trigger in the engine controller that says, when you hit this point, the engine is now broken in, so I'll stop holding you back now and you can just let 'er rip? It is a very noticeable uptick in performance, about which I ain't complaining.

I'm in and around that mileage range as well now (1800klm) and I'm starting to use the gas pedal more (2500rpm shifts) which seems to be a pretty decent sweet spot in the power band exploration so far, or combination for the transmission to move along at, the vehicle seems to like it there and move along pretty good. I'm not sure even when the motor is well broken in I'll rarely have the need to hit shifts much higher in the rev range unless I really have to hit highway speeds quickly.

I'm coming from a lifted jeep with a 5spd manual so this thing has exceeded my expectations well enough. I know it's not going to out run our Mercedes GLK350, 7spd auto, but it rides just as good in my opinion, in some instances where the pavement sucks - way better obviously.

I typically wait to the 5000 kilometre range before bouncing the engine off the rev limiter if I were to - but that kind of driving serves no purpose in a vehicle of this design standpoint thats for sure!!
