Had that happen to my last 4runner after doing a ton of work to it. passenger front corner too. Mine was totaled and I got screwed by insurance. I did buy it back and picked up a clean frame to swap parts to for my next project. It adds up fast. Just the antenna was $300.

Oh-Good idea! Not long after purchase in 2013, the antenna raised up when I turned on radio...and kept raising. It launched itself out on the highway when I was doing 65mph. Unfortunately, the PO had upgraded the stereo and didn't hook up the rear antenna, leaving my too-lazy-to-replace-it arse with no radio for the last year.

I'll make sure the body shop adds that to the list of things to replace. I think I'm going to order a couple of Duratracs with the Discount Tire sale that's running right now. That way I can replace the flat one and other front tire as that set has 11K miles on them. Then I can purchase another stock wheel to replace the one scratched up from the accident and use old one as a matching spare.

Out of curiosity, I called my body at his shop that does all of my body work (granted, he may be knocking a couple hundred off) and he quoted me $4,800.... Of course, that's up here in the Northwoods where things are a bit cheaper..

Hey, Adam! It's been a flawless truck these last two years! I'll certainly post pics when it's finished. We knew the bumper needed replacing anyway ; )
Scotty @aor said the bumper should be shipping this week. It will look a little weird in that it will have a bumper and winch (got the Warn M8000), but no lift. I have the Bilsteins for the all corners and will be ordering springs and related items after the New Year. Going with TRD up front and the seven wrap LCs in the rear.

I'd be interested to know what they charge you to buy it back.

If I remember correctly, it was between $1450 and $1490.

The body shop is fixing/replacing everything -to include painting and installation of AOR bumper- for just over $4000. Obviously, the OEM bumper with the valance, fog lights, and all other pieces (plus paint match) was almost $2000. The new AOR plate replaces this.
I also ordered two new Duratracs to go on the front. One to replace the damaged tire from accident and other to match it as I have almost 10K on original set. I'm taking the old, still good Duratrac and putting it on a used factory wheel that matches my other four as my new spare.

Hopefully the body shop will be cool and let me bolt the winch in before they install the bumper. I don't think I can remove the bumper, install the winch, and reattach it myself. But I will certainly try if I have to!

We're headed down to FLA for Christmas and New Years. Hopefully I'll get the truck back soon after I return. I'll post pics when I can.

... personally I'm NEVER letting my lady drive my truck, she's got her own 4Runner that she's bashed into stuff with. She has a desert dune limited... coincidence? So far for her, the 4Runner has met a pole, a 2015 Land Rover, and a 2001 Civic.

Never let a woman drive anything that isn't easily replaced.

I think within the next 6 months I'll be in the market for a wrecked 3rd gen. My wife wants mine to replace her POS Altima, and you know that means I need another one. But 5-8K for the pristine sport model ain't happenin', so I'll be trolling for the 1 to 1.5K rebuild-able. Or a blown head gasket, or pink milkshake model, for next to nothin'.

I still need to mount mine up, but I have been putting it off because I want to work a Blue Sea fuse box into the mix. I want to tie my PIAAs and ARB compressor into the box. I ordered a mounting bracket for the fuse box and when that gets here I will move ahead on it.

Yes. I did have to notch the grille a little. Wasn't an issue for me to do so.
