Lets talk Mats

Ok i would agree the WeatherTech mats are the best for any car but my
4Runner is a 96 and already has wear on the rug so why go through the expence. I had the clear thin mats we all must have had the ones that curl up and freeze that way in winter, bad news. Well Being a New York Ranger fan and getting a Ranger stearing wheel cover for christmas got me thinking of mats to mach. I found New York Rangers heavy rubber mats for front/back and cargo area for not a lot of monry. Really like these mats and they stay put unlike them thin clear ones but if this was a new 4Runner then i would have gone with the WeatherTech ones no question.

What kind of mats do you use?

I got some recycled rubber ones (from tires) from Costco that where $18

not sure how they do in the weather just yet. but they claim to gather the water below the top surface. but who knows. they were cheap and fit the bill at the time.

Ive had my $16 costco mats for the passenger areas (front and rear) ever since i got the truck: They work great in snow (2 winters of work) and everything, the only stain i have on the floor is from my dad's greasy boot that hit the carpet once.

And one of my best investments on the truck was the rear Husky cargo liner which has gone to hell and back and still works like new, just a little stained, the photo is old:

so here are the ohter costco ones. there made of recycled rubber with some cloth stuff over it.
never seen them before.

I got black so I can see how dirty they are. lol

i have the rear husky cargo matt, they are wonderful. and a set of old school(early 80s) Mercedes Benz cloth matts for the passenger area and they work like a dream, super tough and almost look like the are a perfect fit.

I have the black ones. My Runner is a tan interior.

I took the OEM rubber mats out of my 4th Gen and they fit nearly perfect. Heavy rubber too.

Man, am I the only one with grey interior lol. I have the stockers on mine, but went with the weather-tech on my old WJ Jeep and they were great. Will definitely be upgrading mine soon as the stockers are already getting a wear-spot from my heel.

Another way to look at it is, if you do a nice mat/liner it will hide some of the worn out/dirty stuff. They will also make it look nicer.

I have the weathertech digi-fit liners. Yes, they were pricy but they are nice. I like how they fit and don't slide around or impede my driving. Mine is a stick and bumpy mats can interfere with shifting.

I have a friend that had a bottle of gear oil spill on his and it kept it all off his carpet.

Just a thought.
