Letter from Toyota - Super White and Blizzard Pearl Peeling Paint?

I have a 2016 SR5 in super white with only 30k miles. I just noticed 2 8" diameter circles on my hood where the clear coat is just completely gone.

This "recall" ends after 2015 for the 4runner and it's not quite the same issue as I'm reading here with chipping and scratching but figured Id throw it out there.

Will be contacting Toyota to see if they are willing to remedy this.

Do we know if this paint problem is being corrected? Anybody with a 2020 or 2021 with paint problems? Thinking about buying a new 4Runner but worried about the paint problem. We also have a 2021 Tacoma in white, the paint job looks excellent.

Anyone else here taken their Blizzard Pearl colored 4Runner to the dealer for the paint recall? On my 2012 I noticed a few rust spots right above the windshield where the roof line starts and one dead center of the roof. I want to know your experience when you had it done, wait times, and the results if you were happy with the service and how well it all matched. Hopefully no Macco job, like some Reddit postings.

I am curious to know this, too. I got the letter a couple months ago, but saw nothing on the website. I have a 2013/Blizzard Pearl. When I bought it in 2015, there were a couple of small chips that I had the dealer fix. By 2016, spots of rust were appearing here and there. Now, the entire driver's door panel (inside, bottom) is rusting out, there are rust patches and spots on all the doors, and the rear by the logo/door handle is covered in rust. It looks terrible--and this CANNOT be normal. I just sold my '02 HIghlander (in blue), and it was in better condition after 18 years than this one is. I need to have the airbags fixed, and the windows replaced (break-in), and was wondering if I should do the paint at the same time...

Read my post here and click the link for some reading on the matter, Toyota may extend the coverage/ claim period. Mine is a pearl white 2011 and I had to go in person and went up the chain after a verbal denial on the phone, got coverage although the repainting of the affected areas is going to be months out-
