Level 8 MK6

Loving my wheels! I added some custom TRD stickers to cover up the Level 8 logo. Thanks for the ideas!

So clean!, what size diameter is that TRD decal you have on there? It looks great!

My MK6 should be here in a day or two. I went with the matte black in 17x8 -10 offset.

I have some Cooper AT3 275/70/17 coming as well but i'm regretting not going with the KO2's (was back and forth on those two tires) I really like how aggressive they look.

The Coopers were almost $250 cheaper though. Guess i'll see how they look once mounted...

This forum makes life really hard sometimes :)

Had to remove the front mud flaps and push the front fender liners in and trim the bottom lip of the front bumper to eliminate rubbing.

Did you paint the center caps? What paint did you end up using and how is the color match? Thanks!

I used nail polish remover "acetone" and the "8" came off easily.

I went all over each cap 2-3 times with acetone and a cotton ball.

As many of you may already know, I do sell FN Wheels and Konig Wheels light-weight and strong wheels.

I'm definitely not here to bash anyone else's product, but I would like to note the following regarding wheel weights:

-The 17x8" Konig Six Shooter weighs approximately 20.5lbs per wheel. The 17x8" Level 8 MK6 weighs approximately 27.5lbs - 28.5lbs per wheel (depending on the offset). Official weight chart from Level 8:

This is a 35% - 40% weight difference, and please remember that your wheels and tires are unsprung weight. This is a huge difference, and you will notice decreased acceleration, decreased fuel economy (worse gas mileage), bumpier suspension, and increased stopping distance (worse braking performance) with heavier wheels. A 10% - 15% difference in unsprung weight is usually noticeable, greater than 25% is significantly noticeable, and 35%+ difference is very, very noticeable.

I do realize that the Level 8 wheels are cheaper priced than the Konig wheels. I don't want to speculate about why they might be cheaper, but I will recommend that you consider the added costs of : more fuel (because of decreased fuel economy), more frequent brake pad and rotor service and replacement (because of the need to apply more pressure to stop in the same distance), more frequent need to service or replace your shocks and suspension bushings (even more frequent if you offroad), and a general all-around more sluggish and bumpy/bouncy feeling to your 4Runner from installing heavier wheels (hard to put a dollar figure on this, but in my opinion "fun factor" is most valuable).

Nice, the acetone didn't damage the black paint at all?

No but it can if you put to much or let it sit on it. Just put some on a cotton ball and wipe from top to bottom and right to left. Afterwards I wiped down with a damp paper towel then a dry one.

Just ordered mine with a set of the General Grabber AT2s.. Was wanting Falken AT3Ws but they were backordered.. Will post pics up hopefully in a week..

Those roof rails are killing your blackout look! :puke:

Need to do a roof rail delete or get some trail caps and powdercoat/plasti-dip.

So.. I finally decided 100% on the bils 2.5/1.5 set up.. and I want to run 275/70/17s on this rims.. I just don't know what offset 0 or -10.. the real question is what will cuase less issues in the rubs department

Anybody running the 17X8 with 4.5" backspacing on a 3rd gen with 285s? Don't want to use spacers if I'm buying new wheels. Worried about the UCAs rubbing.

I am also considering these wheels, but I am a bit hesitant since I wonder why the are cheaper than similar wheels from other brands. The say in the wheel description they are cast under low pressure, so they are using a more advanced manufacturing technology. This normally yield to an higher sale price. Can someone have an idea for this low cost?

Since I am doing a mix of highway and moderate trails, I prefer to buy a durable product instead of a cheaper one. I am wrong in thinking these wheels would be less durable. and here, I am not thinking of the finish but the wheel integrity itself.

I don't know if 1engineer would have a clue?
