leveling kit, help please!

Hey guys, Im looking to possibly get a leveling kit for my lil truck. Ive got a '96 4Runner with nothing else to it. no tires, prior lift or fancy stuff. I wanna make it a little beefier. What would you suggest and where could I find it?

I suggest using coils to lift/level instead of spacer as I have. Getting ready to change to coils as I'm going to add additional items on the runner.

I know, just need a cheap lift, that's all I'll need. Next thing down the road and all I need is all kinds of stuff now, shit, have a spacer lift, now what to do.

what brand would you recommend for the coil spacers? and how much height will it give me?

I have no one brand prefered. I have a revtex spacer lift for 2yrs now, but, have a SW bumper and winch coming in a month. So that lift won't support that wieght. This is why I put that smart a.. coment in the last response.

I have purchased a OME 885 coil springs and 5100 shocks to keep the lift and support the wieght. My rears still will have the spacer lift and I had a spring shop take a 1/2 ton coilover monroematic shocks and put the rubber groumet in it to fit my rig. It suppports up to 1200lbs. for now. It also gave additional lift of 1/2 in in the rear to total 3". I tend to tow a trailer and put loads in the back of the rig also.

So I have no real brand to buy. There are several designs you can go, but, think of what you might decide what you might want to do to yours in the future before making a choice.
Your fronts could be lifted with the 5100 struts also.

Stock springs were not designed to handle the extra 200lb off the front that a steel bumper and winch will add. When adding this much extra weight we use stiffer springs to control and support the additional weight.

What are you trying to achieve? Ate you planning on spending another couple grand on steel bumpers, sliders, etc?

I guess i shoulda told you earlier, im new to this stuff. I dont think i'll be adding steel bumpers, maybe a brush guard later. What im wanting to do is make my truck a a few inches taller than what it is now.

op, do you have a 96? if so you may want to try the 3rd gen section for info on most things.
