Leveling/lift kit

Hello,
Looking to add a leveling kit or mild lift. Not going to be doing serious off roading. I have looked into many kits but just not sure. If I do a level kit would it be as simple as a spacer on the front? Spacer on the front and added an inch or two in the back? If I add an inch in the back then it may be as much as two in the back and 2.5-3 in the front.

If I do only the leveling in the front what do you recommend?

A lift kit 2.5 front and 1-2 in the rear what would be recommended?

2011 SR5
Thank you

Chris

I originally did the bilstein 5100's at 2.5 and a 1.5 daystar spacer in the back. Had nothing but issues at 2.5 due to improper alignment and just shitty handling. Recently lowered to 1.75 and it rides like a dream.

I had the Revtek 3/2" for about 2 years. No problems besides the yearly alignment because I of not having aftermarket UCA's. I ran( still do ) 33x12.50r17's with that lift with mild rubbing. But like most will tell you, you might as well spend a little more and get a real suspension lift because you will replace it. I didn't listen and I did just what everyone has said...REPLACED!!! LOL! The 5100's and Dobby coils are a good suspension. Especially for how affordable and with the 2.5/1.5"... no UCA's needed for a larger tire like a 285/70r17's. Just my opinion but spacer lifts aren't bad. Never gave me any problems. I hope this helps.

Don't want to thread jack but want to avoid creating another thread with a similar question. I don't do any serious off-roading, just regular off the pavement style camping, traveling, etc. In my area it rains and floods a lot and as if the 4runner stock wasn't already high enough, i'd like it to be higher.

I've been debating between the toytec, procomp and rough country kits and my issues were that toytec doesn't raise it enough (2" front, 1" rear), and the procomp kit is going to be a hit or miss on fitment for the rear without needing modification. I stumbled across rough country and for what the kit includes, its reputation and history in the industry, I think it suits my purposes fairly well:

In addition to this kit, is there anything else that would be recommended like diff spacer(?) or camber/caster kits?

I recently put on a 3in ToyTec lift and Icon UCA's. I couldn't be happier with the outcome so far. I just put on 285/70/r17 Nittos and don't have any rub issues.

My thought's - if you are going to spend the money on a spacer lift, I'd just save a little more and apply it towards changing the actual suspension. Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it ;).

Do you have a link for the kit you bought?

The 6112/5160 combo from Bilstein is rock solid I added 2” icon rear springs and it rides better than stock with 2.5 upfront and 2” rear. Riding on 285 70/17 wildpeaks.

ToyTec Ultimate kit. 3" front, 2.75 rear. 295/70/17 Ridge Grapplers on a 17x8 wheel with 4.5" BS and 0 offset. No body mount chop, slight fender liner rubbing which you're going to have either way, great results. Move the front inner fender liner forward, trim the inner lip of the bumper that you'll never see anyway, good to go.

How far from center hub to fender in the front and rear? My 6112/5160 combo with Icon rear springs is as follows:

Front 23” center hub to fender

Rear 25” center hub to fender it looks like 24 but my hand was shaking while taking the pic.

Front is 23 which puts it dead at 3" over stock. Rear, not sure don't remember. I used the 2" ToyTec spring with a 3/4" spacer added to the the DS and 5/8 spacer on the PS to level it out side to side.

I have the revtek 321. I think it's about the perfect height if you don't plan on getting crazy. I also did not replace the UCA's and so far so good.

My main complaint on it is, the rear shocks in the kit are way too mushy, any type of load in the cargo area and you are sagging ass. Towing a trailer even empty, you might as well forget it. I'll end of replacing them or doing something to fix that up.

Just buy the bilstein 5100 kit 2.5 front and cornfed spacer in the rear. You will need UCAS if you do 2.5 inch lift. Do not bother with rough country or procomp.

5100’s at 2.5 in the front using stock coils can’t hang. Their limit is like 2” maybe. You would have to run them at 1.75 unless you like that jarring unsafe feeling.

I thought a lot of folks run stock coils on 2.5 with UCAS? I am at 1.75 because I did not want to get UCAS. An aftermarket coil would be nice for sure.

I had local shop install Toytec Boss 650# front / HD rear springs and Total Chaos UCAs. Have over 2k miles on it now. Loving it. These measurements were taken to the nearest 1/8" by me. B/f and after pics in album linked in my sig.

I did 2k miles on a readylift 3/2 lift kit. It got the job done and looked fine. I now have a 3/2 Toytech Bilstein kit and the ride is vastly improved and I think it was worth the higher price. I was a little scared as some here say it can get the caster so far out of spec and make the truck twitchy on the highway etc without getting new UCAs. It's not a sports car but 100% driveable and rides great.

If you are doing this solely for cosmetics and don't mind the softness and body roll of the factory suspension, I'd say just get a readylift kit. If you want it to drive nicer the Toytech kit is really nice for ~$1200.

Took both setups down some local trails and unsurprisingly the Toytech drives much nicer offroad as well.

I just did Bilstein 5100’s on all 4 corners. I set the front at 1.75” and put a 1” Cornfed Suspension spacer in the rear. So far, I love it. It’s a nice compromise for a full on lift. By staying at 1.75” you avoid having to put new UCA’s on and you still get a nice mildly aggressive look and man, it rides like a dream. No more nose diving and wild body roll. I highly recommend this setup if you’re looking to do a little more than just a level without having to do a full coil over setup with UCA’s. I may go more aggressive in the future but this scratches the “lift itch” for me nicely at this time.

When you say you put the bilsteins in, did you just add them to the stock springs? Or you purchased new struts all together?

I’m at a loss right now trying to figure out the best way to level my truck.
