My 2004 4R didn't have a mounting plate for the rear license plate when I got it and I didn't want to bolt the license plate right against the paint for obvious reasons.
These items can be a low cost, nice detail for your 4R if you dont have one and they can also be four times as expensive from retail outlets.
My requirements were I wanted it to be the exact size to the plate, but raised and 4 screw plate mounting.
Found this solution searching on Amazon, only $4.99 Prime to my door and was just what I was wanting. Then I just had to supply the right combo of screws.
The four that with came weren't my preference (I wanted black ones for the plate) and they dont fit the truck threads either.
After finding my screws, two screws to mount the mount and four to mount the plate to the mount, it turned out great.
