First of all, very special thanks to Millerad1651. You rock! He tremendously helped me with the many questions a noob like me would have all the way from what to buy and how to install. It took up 2 of my Saturdays, but I learned a lot along the way.

I ended up going with Bilstein 4600s all the way around with OME 881s and 906s. Overall I am very pleased with the final setup. The ride definitely feels refreshed. And isn't too high so I can still get into low clearance parking garages here in downtown Seattle.

One thing I would HIGHLY recommend anyone prior to doing this or any other kind of mechanical work on their 4Runners, take detailed pictures before taking things apart! My buddy and I had to repeat the installation of the front springs because we foolishly installed them upside down. Yes so that meant taking the struts out, and messing with the spring compressors again. Ouch..

The first picture shows my 4Runner with just the fronts installed since the first day we ran out of time due to the above mentioned mistake. Please do laugh at the rear sag :).

I noticed that the OME 906s are much thicker than the stock rears. So this will definitely stiffen things up in the rear.

And yes I know my 4Runner needs a serious wash. But its hard to keep the outside clean when I'm always out and about with it in the beautiful NW.

Sweet dude, looks good, are you getting new tires/wheels soon?

Also how much did it cost for the parts total? And did you ever get quoted at a shop for them to install it, if so how much did they say?
 
Looks great man. Glad I was able to help. So could you feel a difference when you first started driving after the lift? I could feel that I was up a little higher, don't know if it was BS or not, but I felt it.

You'll end up loving it once it settles and you get used to it...so much better than worn out stock suspension.
 
Cool man! Nice to see another lifted Runner in the Seattle area. Where was the beach pic taken? Looks like Ocean Shores.
 
YMCMB: It was $274.30 for the bilstein 4600s and $326.00 for the springs (all front and rear). I'll probably stick with the tires I have now since they are new and nice and quiet on the road where I spend 99% of the time anyway.. for now :). A few mechanics in my area whom I trust quoted the work to do the install a total of 4 hours (2 for the front and 2 for the rears). On average they are $99/hour in my area. I'm a total noob when it comes to mechanic work. With a buddy willing to work for beer, and the wealth of information on this forum, it is definitely possible to DIY.

Millerad1651: I definitely no longer feel the excessive rattle after going over bumps in the road like potholes or railroad tracks. With cornering, braking, and freeway driving, I definitely feel more "connected" to the road. The pain was definitely worth the gain! :)

GSPRunner: Yes this was at ocean shores. Love that place. And I'd say the beach driving was 1/2 the fun with only the fronts installed at the time.

Where did you buy the springs from for $326? I added the same springs to cart in ToyTec and it's at least $340.00 and for some reason the complete lift kit with no diff drop and no top spacer is $390

Westport is cool. We go there to surf. It's a nice small little fishing town with some good spots. Definitely not as touristy as Ocean Shores.

The 4 spring kit with top plate spacer and no diff drop is $390. If you remove the top plate spacers, it drops it to $340. I bet he is using the T4R coupon with that too which is why he got $326.

Looks good man! good you noticed that you had them installed upside down most people would never notice haha.
I feel your pain with the spring compressor I got pissed when my buddy who works at toyota showed me his spring compressor at work that does the job in like 2 minutes
 
I assume the lift has settled some now that's it's been several months since the install.

How is the ride? Do you have any recent pics?

I'll be purchasing/installing new springs, shocks, and struts soon on my 97 LTD. Would like a slight rake. Decided on 906's rear, but am leaning towards the 890's, or Monroe Quick Struts, for the front.
