Lift help

I know some of these questions may be basic info, but I am new to this modding and I don't know too much about it all.
I have been going through a bunch of the lift guides and went through the lift info sticky.
I want to do the 80 series land cruiser front coils on the rear of my 1998 limited and TRD tundra coils on the front, do I NEED new shocks to receive the full lift? If so, what kind could I use?

Technically you don't NEED new shocks but I would strongly recommend changing out your rear shocks when installing a lift. I just got some LC shocks to match my LC springs. They are $45 each and a big improvement for a relatively small price. BTW good choice on the tundra/lc lift :thumb:

Thanks man, wasn't sure if they would even fit! XD not sure why but I did.
Do yours sag a lot when loaded? Gonna be pulling a pair of jet skis with my truck.
And you used the LC front shocks? (Sorry if I sound stupid)

I was asking the same questions before installing my lift to haha but yeah the LC shocks fit fine. I haven't had it loaded down yet but I tow a single jetski on a double trailer and it was fine. Yes, I have 9 wrap LC coils, this is a good thread with more information...

Yeah I had seen that thread, I was having some major difficulties finding the springs anywhere on the Internet using that info, but I eventually found a site that will run me about 230 a air, it just says they are for the 4wd. If you could link me to where you got yours (if possible) that would be amazing. If not that's fine :)

front lc coils, REAR LC shocks. Search LC shocks and you'll find a part number. BigFishAllDay has a thread on it as well.

Get the shocks. OR install your rear LC coils with stock OEM shocks and get back to us on how you like the ride and the flex lol :bigok: (completely sarcastic)

I take it OEM shocks suck with the lift?
Thanks I didn't even think of googling it xD

Well think about it, they don't extend long enough to accommodate the 4"+ lift you're putting on with the coils. They will be over extended just by reattaching them lol your ass will hurt and if you go flex your truck out it's possible the shock will just separate.

Makes sense.. What about the front shocks? Will the TRD tundra front shocks work?

I got my LC shocks and springs from cruiserparts.net

Thanks! It looks like they only have shocks, no coils. Found and Site that sells just OEM parts with them on there, just don't want to run into a fraudulent site.

If you call them and explain what you need they will go out into their yard and track a pair down for you. You can also check IH8mud for part outs.

Ih8mud will definitely have some LC coils. Look for Bowser in the partout section. He has several LC's and good prices.
