Lift is installed...now my tires look small...

I have 265/70/17 Nitto Terra Grapplers on my truck and i put the daystar 2.5/1.5 and spidertrax wheel spacers on yesterday. Once again...the tires look small.

I'm not replacing them any time soon as they are less than a year old. But down the road...whats the largest tire i can fit with this setup?

Can i fit a 285/70/17? And if so what modifications have to be made to avoid rubbing issues?

it's getting an alignment right now. I'll snap a few as soon as it's done.

You may be able to fit 285/70/17 but it will require extensive trimming of liner and removal of mudflap with this amount of it.

285's will fit on the daystar lift for sure. especially since you already have spidertrax.

New tires don't change the alignment. Alignment is usu done using the wheels. Now when he gets tired he won't need an alignment

yes you will. bigger size tires will throw off the alignment

Nope... It's wheel alignment, not tire alignment.

The tires won't change any angles. The lift is what changes the angles.

alright well do whatever you beleive. ive seen it first hand. someone lifts something, re aligns with stock tires. then gets new tires (larger) and doenst re align and then they dont get the life out of them that they should have.

the smart thing is to not re align till you put new tires on it. or realign it both times.

Subscribing so I can see the pics. This is why i haven't gotten a DS yet. I just bought tires a couple of months ago, 265/60r 18......they are going to look really small with a lift. Since they are so new, i have been meaning to go back by the place that i bought them to see if they might give me a good deal to trade out......not holding my breath.....:nono:

There is a really easy solution to all of this go to Firestone and get a lifetime alignment it cost a little bit more then two regular alignments but they guarantee the alignment for as long as you own the car. Kind of a no brainier for guys who go offroading

EDIT: Maybe the lack of white sidewall text coloring makes somewhat of a difference?
