Lift Kits in Dallas/Ft. Worth

Hey fellas/gals!

After getting my first 4runner, I've been pleasantly happy with it, but now it's time for a lift and some tires. Does anyone have any advice on where I can go to get a kit and have it installed in the DFW area. Or if there is anywhere I can pick one up locally so I don't have to wait for shipping?

Also, I'm so overwhelmed and confused with all the kits out there so will probably need some direction from the shop to which one to get as well. I've already read a ton on the forums and my head is still spinning (spidertrax, ome, readylift, icon, toytec, uca, total chaos, spacer lift, wheel spacers, bmc, etc... A lot to soak up lol.)

Well it depends what you want your truck to look like or do.
Is it mostly asphalt driving or you'l be doing off-roading, if yes, how often and how extensive.
Above all how much $$ you are willing to spend on it. As you know it almost is never enough...

I called em up and they really didn't have anything. They referred me to a shop that does more Toyotas and they had a few options. Spacer kits for about $800 installed. Coilover kits from Fox, King, and Icon. I would gravitate towards the Icon since they're more turned for our cars and the Stage 1 Icon kit is about $1800 without installation, $2300 with install. I'm wondering how these would be versus a cheaper more affordable coilover kit like toytec or bilsteins. I want the lift and the look and the occasional off roading but I'm not gonna be off roading all the time.

But considering that I'm at 130k miles, maybe I should just replace the shocks anyway with a coilover kit. The tricky thing is, I bought the truck used and have no idea if/when the stock suspension was ever changed. It rides great at the moment though.

Budget is around $1500 give or take a few. But if something is that compelling, ai could stretch it.

Ive been on the cornfed spacer lift since 60,000 miles. No issues whatsoever and I am still on stock shocks at 377K lol. Still not Cadillacing so I'm keep running em'. Don't really offroad much though, its my daily!

I'm down. I'm in the Mansfield area, will be looking at a lift as well in that same timeframe. Only thing holding me back is deciding which direction I wanna go in. I thought I could keep the stock shocks (xreas) but when I was underneath it yesterday, I saw what appeared to be some slight leakage on the front shocks, not sure if that's normal or not. If it's not, guess I'll have to get new shocks with the lift.

That and I also want to figure out what the heck is the issue with that movement/shift I feel whenever I get to a stop and then resume driving. It's in the other thread I started and I've just done the differential/transfer case fluid change along with greasking all driveshaft zerks and problem is still there... [emoji19]

I did the toytec blistens coilover kit with uca the install was like 550 with alignment!! Which most places wanted the same price without alignment.

Realized the T4R I just got still had the original shocks on (or had OEM replacements put on and have worn out) so I needed to have them replaced. Since the 5100s are popular around here and can give me the slight lift I need to get my tires to stop scraping (hopefully) I figured I'd do that.

I just went with a set of 4 (adjustable in front) from 4wheelparts for $356. If I can find some FJ springs between now and next week I'll use those as well, otherwise I just put the 5100s on with the stock springs for now.

personally if i could do it over again I would have spend the extra money and just gone with the ultimate kit or the boss kit.

Kind of silly not too... I wish I would have gone with a true adjustment coil over =o/
