lift/leveling kit

You do realize that in your picture, your spacer is in the same place that all spacers go? How is yours different than the 2/1 or 3/2 cornfed?

borgz those are the exact spacers i used they measured 2in. they bolt to the top of the strut hat. there was no need to disassemble the at all.

this is right off of corn fed site which uses both styles of the lift to achieve 2in lift in the front.

The 2" front/1" rear lift kit gives you a 2" front lift and a 1" rear lift. The 2" front spacers will include a 6061 aluminum spacer which mounts outside of the coilover and also a smaller UHMW spacer that installs inside of the coilpack. Rear spacer is machined from UHMW. This kit allows for a 275/70r17 or a 275/70r16 tire/wheel combo.

now they are using both a preload spacer and the same style i used where i used just a 2in top mount spacer. NO PRELOAD.

Ha! ha!, I intentionally posted that pic:) It looks like an inch thick but we know that cam shot angle is not a reliable basis to judge thickness of an object. But you said that its really 2" thick, and the lift youved got is also 2"?? That really confuses everybody as most believe in a 2:1 ratio..(also I'ved read in other forums)
This guy has "Readylift" spacers in front:

He might also have a 2"spacer = 2" of lift...and can help you support your claim..Your truck looks nice anyway..

Agreed. Looks good lifted no matter how it got there.

i used a 2in top spacer.

Okay, here's the deal. Your 2-inch spacer only measures about an inch. It's obvious from the picture you posted. Also, your argument about top-out vs pre-load spacers is fundamentally just plain wrong.

You can either:
1. show us a photo of a measuring tape next to your "2 inch" spacer, showing that it is 2" thick, and prove us all wrong (in which case, I'll send you $10 by Paypal)

2. realize you forgot to verify how thick the spacer was before you installed it, admit your mistake like a man, and prevent all the newbies that read this thread from being confused about how much lift they're going to get,

or
3) Ignore this thread and look like someone who was wrong but could not admit it.

Also,

1b. You are measuring the amount of lift you got carelessly and didn't get the correct height/didn't measure the same tires each side (the 4runner can vary from one side to the other)

Speaking of being wrong and admitting it, I was in a foul mood when I typed my post above last night. I think I came across as a real a-hole. Sorry about that. I was going to revise my post this morning, but someone had quoted it in its entirety before I could fix it. DOH!

Anyway, let me try agin... It appears the spacer in question is about an inch thick. I'd request that you measure it for us so we can set the record straight. Thx.

hammer im running 265/65r17 for tires they were brand new when i picked up the truck so ill run em till they need changing.

loner, ill def get a measurement for you on my spacer and like i said im over it basicly my truck is where i wanted it so no use in making enemys over nothing.

Yeah, you're right. I didn't mean to come across like such a jerk. Part of me was just being an a-hole and the other part (the good side) wanted to make sure this issue was clear for anyone reading the thread who might be misinformed otherwise. Please accept my apology for the crappy tone of my post.

Either way looks excellent !!!

Couple questions though......

1 you kept xreas system correct ?
2 only did front correct ?
3 how is your ride , any different ?

I probably asked this before , so bear with me , it's a Vicodin day....lol.

slowteg

Where did you order from? And you said that are 'Fusion' brand, correct?

Please take a few more pics if you can and post - I'd like to see it from a few other angles if that's possible. Thanks man

thickness

looking at the top of the bolt, which seems to be 1/2 or 5/8 across?, looks like about half the thickness of the spacer, which would make it 1 in. thick. looking at it this way, that bolt would have to be 1 in. at top to make the spacer appear to be 2 in. that picture looks like a 1in. thick puck to me . so he would have to hold a ruler up to his spacer for us to truly see whats correct, but either way , he did get the 2in. in front he was looking for, & it looks good. it would just be a good thing to put this to rest so some of the newer guys have a better idea of what to order for themselves, that was almost as heated as the jeep forums.
