Lift Question

Wanted to get some opinions. I am wanting to get 1" lift on my 18 PRO. I reached out a 4x4 shop in the area, and they are willing to install it for $100, which I thought is a great price.

I then reached out the dealer, they are not willing to install it, but also stated that it would void my warranty if I did get this installed.

Any thoughts?

Worse case scenario is you would have no warranty on the front suspension ect. Everything else would be unaffected, and would still have full warranty.

I had my Toytec 2” kit put on by the dealer, and it came back perfect. But I already had a good rapport with them. I suspect you spoke with a “service advisor” that knows nothing. If you are just swapping out the front coil perch and spacer for a more level look the 4x4 shop sounds like your best bet. I would be surprised if the dealer even noticed.

$100 is a great price. Especially if all you are doing is trying to level it out.

Yeah, it doesn't void your entire warranty. Just any failures that would be related. If your catalytic converter fails they aren't going to deny the warranty because you have a leveling kit.

What should I do first give the beast more power or add a lift

What's going on y'all new 4runner owner not sure if I want to slow down my 4runner with a lift and tire:target:s ... So should I beef up the engine and tran first? Or will a lift effect it that much

I didn't notice that a 3" Toytec lift and SSO front bumper and winch slowed anything down. And the worst gas mileage I have seen since new (7,000 miles) has been 18.5. I am running stock sized tires.

I didn't buy my 4runner for speed so I'm not concerned with slowing it down but welcome to the forum from Midlothian, VA ;)

Was there a lag in throttle response or acceleration?

Can you say "run-on sentence"? Clearly, public school has failed you miserably.

I'm thinking you might want to pay closer attention the next time you're at 'sheets' because it's....wait for it...."Sheetz".

Wondering what you think of the 2 different Icon stages. For the cost of Icon stage 3 I can get myself a nice King set up. However I wonder if a stage 2 would suffice. I’m not a rock crawler or desert junkie. I spend time on cape cod beaches and the mountain trails of Maine, NH and VT.

Some added weight with what I have, and waiting to see the expedition one rear bumper with a ladder vs the pelfreybuilt, so some xtra wt there as well

Wondering if a stage 2 with some stiffer springs would suffice. Or just toss on the TRD Toytec kit which I already have. And some OME 889 rears

Typing w my thumbs so apologies! Thanks!!

I've been running the icon stage 2 with the uniball UCA and they've been great. Put on 10k miles on them on and offroad with no problem. They can handle a lot more off-roading than what people think.

Icon Stage 2 would definitely suffice.....I had the Toytec TRD Pro lift kit for about a year, and appreciate the ride & height adjustability with the Icons much more.

If you're getting a rear bumper, the Icon S2 with the Icon 3" overland springs will work well!

Did you also have the 2" lift Toytec rear springs installed or just the front pucks?
