Lift question?

Ok, so I just got my 96 4runner lifted with a 2.5 inch Skyjacker kit, had new Procomp Shocks and Struts put on, bought 16.8 procomp xtreme alloy 7089s and procomp 285/75 all terrains,

I also have yet to install my cold air K&N kit and new sway bar links (one is broke)

but I was wondering about a 1 inch body lift, here is a pic of my Runner, what do you guys think? and if I did, where should I get it from and what brand should I go with?

If you just want a one inch get it from 4crawler or toytec. If you go over one inch go with 4crawler.

i think a 1 inch bodylift would set the stance perfectly

A one inch body lift would look good. Its really what you want in the end. If it were me I'd probably just lift it higher with a suspension lift before I went to a body lift, but that's just me.

He is almost maxxed out on the suspension due to the cv's. A 1 or 2 inch body lift wouldnt be bad but dont get 3 inchs.

Yeah, wouldnt want more than an inch cuz then the tires would get swallowed up by the car and I dont want to go bigger and regear...

Im actually just trying to plan out the next project...

thinking maybe remove the front bumper and go with a bull bar w.skid plate, or even keep the bumber and do a bull bar, not quite sure yet.

Looks like Sn0wrunner has a TRB bull bar, but Im not finding any pricing or where he got it from here in the states.

I like the way your runner is looking, if you do a body lift 1 inch is all that I would go, I have been contemplating doing the same. If you remove your running boards that will also make it look a lil more rugged and give some added clearance. Since you are in town check out IRBIS offroad, they have some sick custom front and rear bumper setups!!

Yeah, I like that site and the vision for building custom to your vehicle, not just throwing something on there from a manufacturer... Ill definitely be swinging by there to check everything out...

Thanks for all the compliments guys, Just starting my 4runner as a project, nice to get some positive feedback.

I got the Cold Air Intake on yesterday and replaced both my sway bar links (my driver side one was broken), now my 4runner drives like a toyota again instead of a jeep floating all over the road!

Yeh i guess I didn't really look and notice that he was at 2.5" already. 3" is really all I'd push it in the front for the sake of the cv's. 1" body lift wouldn't be too bad.

Snowrunner has a TJM, no longer available in the US. If you want one youll have to ge t one used or buy an ARB

you should look in to the b.l. i am as well. i have a 3 inch suspension lift with the same size tires and last week i hit a fairly big ditch on a dirt road and my front tire came all the way up and smashed the bottom of my fender the added clearance of the b.l. would have prevented this. it tore the sr5 fender trim off i jb welded it back on and its all good

somebody on here referred me over to IRBIS, and I called up the guy, he answered on a sunday! couldnt believe it,

talked to him for a few about options for a grille guard/bull bar etc, hes gonna set me up with a replacement skid plate until i get a custom one made...

He says that they get rid of the two diff plates and combine them into one and it works way better, offers better protection etc.

Im gonna go in and talk with him sometime this week.

Have to get a lower skid plate before I go 4wheelin with my friends on Friday.

anyone in the denver area interested in going up friday morning/afternoon I was thinking something like Devils Canyon or Cascade Creek, something just outside of Idaho Springs and something easy to kinda see what my Runner can do now without injuring it to much...

anyone have any other ideas for a close to Denver run that might me fun but not too hard for a newbie??

Smooth and quiet!! its a good spacer lift... I kinda feel that it has packed and settled a bit more than I had hoped, but I also still have to replace my rear coil springs so, we will see when I do that if the back end lifts a little and takes some weight off the front and evens out a little.

overall, I would say its worth it though...
