Lift questions

Hello! I just recently bought a 98 Toyota 4runner. I want it to look more aggressive. Originally, I thought I would like a 3 inch lift. It came with P265/70R16 tires. I know I need bigger tires. But can I keep the same rims? What would you recommend is the best way to go about this. Do I need to purchase a lift and new brake lines and radiator hose? Or would it easier to get bigger tires and add spacers to make them stick out a little further? I hope someone can help me. I can't get straight answers anywhere else. Thanks for your time.

What your plan to do with it? Are you planning on just making it look more aggressive, or actually wheel it? If you are just going for looks you can always just do a body lift and tires. If you are going to actuall use it for 4 wheeling, I have seen bits about useing FJ coils for the lift. One of my buddies on this forum actually made his own front lift from shortening some TRD Tacoma coil overs.
