Lift suggestions on 2016 XP

Hey everyone so I wanted some thoughts on a mini lift for my new XP. I don't want to replace the rims or tires since their only 5 days old but was thinking about either just doing the following...

1inch spacer to the front
or
1.75 front and 1inch rear spacer

What do you guys think? I am planning on getting larger tires later down the road after I get my monies worth of the current.

Holy wow so I now understand why a lot of people don't know what the XP edition is. Ok so I guess SET offers this option. I just tried to build my own model on Toyota website with a CA zip code and its not found. Well that is outta the way don't mind $$$ on the package because I got the truck for a great deal its end of month and end of year 2016's are being given away like free water. Back to my OP thoughts on the lift guys? :jump:

Why don't you drive it a little while and see how you like the shocks? If you find it a tad soft like many, put 4 Bilsteins on it and set the front to .85 to level it. Or go up a notch and put spacers on the rear.

Do a more serious lift with the new tires down the road.

I get your point. I guess I am being to impatient. I wanted to do something now to give it a little meaner why still looking good. Those tires aren't going to wear down for a good 2 years... You know the feeling of wanting to mod your ride :car:

Lift suggestions

A friend of mine likes the economy of using spacers and he's had a lot more off-road vehicles and done tons more off-road travel than I have. After selling his 4th gen T4R with a 3" lift he currently has a Lexus GX470 with spacers (and two kids).
Last summer we did a climb up Gold Mountain in Big Bear, CA and my stock 2015 T4R Trail did fine until we got to some very serious rock crawling up a staircase of rocks. I would have turned around and went back but my friends said they'd guide me through. The frame really scraped and I definitely was glad I had installed the Domello rock rails.
Now I'm looking at more lift to clear the frame. Eventually I'll get slightly taller tires so the low hanging differential will clear rocks a bit higher.
I'm looking at the King and ICON shocks with remote canister adjustment and more lift with coil overs and new rear springs. It's the maximum ride capability, allowing me to adjust the ride for street driving and off-road. To make sure I can get long travel capability I plan to swap out the UCA and rear axle arms.
I think the limit of spacers is that you still have the same shocks and springs. There is no increase in travel so you can't always keep all four tires on the ground. Long travel provides this in more cases, AFAIK.
You can decide what you need in South Florida and anywhere else you plan to travel. As far as I know (AFAIK) there are no big hills in South Florida.

Think of your end goal rather than just right now. If you get spacers F+R that's a few hundred. Install assuming you don't do it another few hundred then alignment. I think that average price is roughly 500-700. If you want full blown suspension put that money towards it. Its cheaper to go 1 and done than be impatient and get something now that is decent but won't want for a long time. To each their own but that is the route I went and while it takes longer its better in the long run.

Are you opposed to selling those rims with tires, using the money and buying a set that is more "4Runner Friendly"? Just buy everything used i.e.tires, rims spacer lift

XP is one of the SET "Packages" that the port does. Typically bolt-on stuff that they do to appeal to the crowd in that area vs. something built and designed by Toyota like a TRD Pro. If I remember right they usually start off with SR5's and build them up to a special trim to sell.

Is it 4WD?

I see XP versions all over SoFlo. I'm surprised there are people who don't know what they are.

Almost got one but every one I saw was 2WD and I was going to replace the running boards with sliders anyway. Didn't make economic sense.

It's a Gulf-State thing, so people not in the SET district may not be aware of these. They aren't Toyota special editions or trims, they're SET Port/Dealer gimmicks meant to sell more vehicles.

Post Note-

Didn't mean to sound like I was putting the OP's 4Runner down, I was just trying to explain why people don't know what XP, XPS, "Tundra RockStar", "Tacoma Rockstar", "Tundra Mammoth", ect. are.
I believe Texas has it's own special versions of Tacoma and Tundra "Baja TX". Their not really factory trims or packages, but rather dealer/port specials for certain regions.

I just don't get why, from what I've seen, they are all 2WD. Even the Tacomas and Tundras. I think they look good but why have meaty tires on a big ass Tundra that's 2WD?

Curious if OPs is 4WD

OK we are going way off thread here. I appreciate all the replies and I like the rims and tires on the truck now. When the tires wear out I am going to go a tad bigger on the tires. Yes its 2WD drive who cares? I live in SFL man! We don't get snow, we don't have hills, I have more paved roads here then off roads so its mostly being driven on the pavement. I just wanted some thoughts on 4 new blistin shocks. Front set to 1.75 with 1inch cornfed spacers in the rear. Wanted some thoughts on if it would look meaner then stock and not like I have little tires with a big wheel gab. :car:

If you are going for the look just go ahead and get the 5100's like Phil said and the spacers for the rear. Only thing I would say contrary to that is- if you want it that way just do it and enjoy it now rather than later. I have had many, many cars and trucks that have been modded heavily and it's more fun to do the bigger mods first.

To answer your other question, I ran 265's for years with a 2.5" lift up front and 1.5" in the rear. Looked pretty good IMO. I definitely like the 285's better now though.

ok I got 265/55/20's so then a slightly smaller lift would look good. I figured 1.75 and 1inch would be good from pics I have been seeing.

Gonna look awesome Brother. However, if you're going to go larger on the tires later, you may want to consider 2.5 on the front Bilsteins and a 1.5 spacer in the rear. Changing the front height on the Bilsteins is as hard as installing them in the first place. Have fun. You're gonna love it.

Hey all, I just bought my 2016 TE w/XP pkg and KDSS. I also bought Spidertrax 1.25" spacers, had them installed and was rubbing all over the place on the front. Had them taken back off and am now considering a 2" leveling kit for the front and not touching the rear. Does anyone have experience with this and can tell me if that's enough clearance? I went to a place called 4WheelParts and the store manager told me that I cannot do a lift kit on my TE b/c of the KDSS, but many threads in the forum say that it's been done. Any thoughts? I was mainly posting here because the OP posted about the XP package and those are the same rims/tires (Nitto Terra Grapplers) that I have on mine. Any guidance/advice is greatly appreciated as this is the first SUV I've ever owned.
