Lift with the XREAS suspension

I am trying to get a Daystar 1" leveling kit installed on my '05 Sport. I am having trouble finding a shop that can put it on due to the XREAS suspension. The dealership told me that if you disconnet the system it would cost $800 a strut to replace. Does anyone know of a Leveling kit that mounts about the strut mount or an easy way to install this leveling kit?

Most people install the lifts (whether it is a preload that goes in with the coil or a topout that goes on top of the assembly) with the shocks still on the vehicle. You can take the shock out, but leave the line for the X-REAS connected and do all the work in the fenderwell. This isn't the easiest thing to do, but much safer. They are right, you do not want to disconnect the lines. If you jack the 4runner up, rest it all on jackstands where the suspension is dropped all the way down, you should be able to disconnect the line without issues. You just can't unhook the lines when the suspension is loaded even the least little bit. I'm sure someone can verify that, as I'm new to this as well, but from my searching you shouldn't have problems doing it that way.

somewhere there is a post on here from someone putting a level kit on a silver limited.

i did a 1" level kit(net 2") on my driveway. it was fairly simple. did not disconnect XREAS. i left everything connected except for st upper strut assy and the stab link and i was able to get the spacer in and it has been perfect. you WILL need an alignment afterwards.

unfortunately, there are some shops that wont install spacers, let alone install them with the xreas. similar to a tire shop refusing to install larger than stock tires or installing wheel spacers. if something happens they dont wont to be responsible for it when the insurance co. gets involved. so thats what i assume he means by not being able to find a shop in his area to do it . PM a guy on this forum ," toytec lifts", maybe he can help with the parts you need if you didnt already get them, with discount too, or install info.

I just did this last week (for the fronts) w/ a 3/4" pre-load spacer and new FJ Cruiser springs ... did NOT have to disconnect the X-REAS shocks.
