Lift Work, two days?

2 days is insane for this. I dropped my truck off in the morning to have a Toytec BOSS kit, Total Chaos UCA's, diff drop, and steel threaded brake lines installed with an alignment completed after. It was ready to pick up around 5 hours later and cost me around $700.00 for everything.

Wow $700 for the everything. I thought Toytec BOSS kit cost atleast $1300 (toytec.com). If i will get that much savings, I will just buy parts online and shipped it to US address and pick it up.

Thanks for your feedback.

2 days is crazy... chances are they will finish the install in one day (its not that complicated).

If you want to speed things up... go get it aligned yourself. That way, you can first put a few hundred miles on it (take it off-road too) and let it settle in a bit before you align it.

That could be another option, let it settle a bit before allignment.

Thanks!

I'm sure he was talking about $700 for labor on everything. I think I paid around $500 for labor.

I paid $500 for ICON S5 install, arrived when they opened at 9, left at 1p. Suggest you find someone more familiar with in install. Call ICON, they recommend my shop.

these threads drive me crazy. the work is easy and there are no specialized tools needed. if you have a floor jack, a socket set, and a flat spot the coil overs can be done in 3-4 hours, and the rear lower arms will take another hour or so (a ratchet strap is useful here). save yourself hundreds of dollars and do it yourself.

Sometimes time is a more precious commdity than money, cant take the money with me when im dead. I had to balance what i was quoted and leaving my truck for two days i was just going to commute to work versus giving up a weekend day (really two given my skills). My wife and i both work and have small kids, so every day we arent working is very valuable. When i didnt have kids i would have done it, when they are older ill do more myself again...

That said my quote was quite reasonable in my mind compared to OP

Yeah, the $700.00 was for the labor, some extra fluids and alignment. It's definitely a question of priorities like Jhalko said. Figure out if your time or money is more important to you.

The quote was over the phone and I believed the labor was CAD $500. The rest was parts ( at the time US to CAD was 1.12). Parts prices where converted from US$ to CAD$, so numbers will be higher that US $ prices.

Also, this shop/store is one of ICON's authorized dealers in my area.

Thanks for your feedback.

As parts prices were converted from USD to CAD$, I think his quote was reasonable considering I am not being charged for shipping and duty.

Genrerally CAD sticker prices are way higher than US, sucks but that's the reality :canada:

Thanks for your input.
