some1 in the off road forum posted a quote of $350. but if you read the thread he ended up puting it on himself and was very happy he did it himself...I recomend you do it your self cuz that way if you have to trim or do any macguyver stuff. then you know exactly how to do it and fix it...the kit is easy to install and N.E. provides lots of instructions.....and pics of every step..only tool needed are a simple socket set and spring compressors. which you can get for $40 at any automotive store. and kragen and autozone rent them out .. but I just bought my own..

You did not need the pitman arm puller?? How do you get away with not needing this? Most write-ups I read say you need this type of tool.

I trie both ways the lower ball joint comes out easier then the top one..you just have to remove 2 bolts 19 mm bolts and the bottom comes right out....and if you take the top cotter pin and castlenut ... Then take a couple swift hits with a hammer to the top spindle ..it will come lose....you can spray it with a little P&bs bolt loosener to help.......in the write ups he used a bottle jack to push the A arm down..... that would work too....................the pittman works good it wasnt availible though ...their are imatation pittmans for like $20 bucks at kragen...but that would be my last resort.....

with 4.5" of lift, popping the upper balljoint was ABSOLUTELY necessary for me (with XREAS at least) and it was easy to do with the pitman arm puller and my lug wrench with a correctly sized socket attached. and it didn't even throw me across the garage like it does when i'm popping the outer tie rod end! 
if you have XREAS, you'll need to pop at least the outer tie rod end, and as much as i hammered on things it wouldn't just come out until i used the pitman arm puller. i got mine for cheap at pepboys ...

that's only $8, and is the exact item i use for the tie rod ends and for the upper balljoint.
