Liftgate Lights

I have stumbled across a few pictures of rigs with lights installed into the liftgates for extra light during camping and what not. I was hoping some of you with this done could share with me what kind of lights you used and how you went about with the install....

I got some dome lights from a wreck and intend to use LED panels off ebay to do it. That way, it'll work like OEM. Funny. I was about to get off the couch tonight and do this mod...

I recently ordered some LED pods from Oznium. I wired them through the rear hatch and placed a switch where the dust cover locks into place. These are going to be awesome for camping as they will provide overhead lighting when the hatch is up and im digging through my gear and interior lighting when I close the hatch and go to sleep in the back of the Runner. I installed my Blue Sea Fuse Block and "custom" mounting panel while I was at it. Have a look:

The LED's are WAY brighter than I imagined they would be!!

Its pitch black outside, no moon, far from civilization. 1 - 1$ ebay LED light panel. I always get comments from people at trailheads about my insanely bright overhead lights.

Fits into the OEM light bulb mount with the adapters than come with the panel.

yeah, just ebay search for something similiar. You should find some for a buck or 2 shipped. I bought 3 and have been very happy with them.


BTW: I got off the couch and banged it out. Just need to tap the wires and pop it on. thanks for motivating... I put it in my mod thread. Better pictures on how to tap the wires for switched power back there.
