Lifting a 2022 TRD Off-Road with KDSS or King Suspension

Hi, I'm ordering a 2022 TRD Off-Road with KDSS. I would like a mild lift and to offset the wheels to bring them flush with the fender flares.

I like the way the Pro sits so I'm thinking a 1"-2" lift in the front and 0-1" in the back.

I will be replacing the stock rims with TRD Pro rims. Eventually I would like to upgrade to King shocks.

Any suggestions on the best option for that lift and offsetting the wheels?

The Pro rims have a bit more offset than the ORP wheels so you might be happy with those without any spacers.

I run bilstein 5100's in mine. 1.75" with a 1" rear spring spacer. They're work fine. It's no King setup tho, that's for sure.

I'd suggest just waiting and getting whta you want (Kings) as opposed to doing something now and then replacing. Buy once, cry once. Defintely true with King.

Actually the Pro rims have less positive offset. The OffRoad wheels are +15 and the Pro wheels are +4 if memory serves me. The Pro wheels alone will not sit flush with the fender flares. The op will need spacers or something like a -10 to -15 offset to sit flush. I also agree that getting the King from the start is the way to go.

What tires are you looking to run? Stock tires 265/70-17s or something else? Your rim offset/backspacing will impact if you rub along with upsizing tires.

265 or 275, I was thinking the 275 would help the offset look.

I have read a lot of technical reviews online about wheel spacers prematurely wearing out front end components. I'm thinking I only need a half or 3/4 inch spacer. Hopefully that's not a big deal.

Excuse my ignorance but will the King suspension kit raise the truck at all?

If not, what's the easiest way to raise it an inch or two? And will the slight rise draw the wheels back in requiring more spacing?

Thanks, that might be ideal. I'm assuming this is not raising an off-road as high as the TRD Pros in that videa as they started life off slightly higher? And the 285/70/17 might rub on an off-road with this lift?

Does this mild lift draw the wheels inward?

What is an equivalent (hopefully cheaper) alternative to the King set up with KDSS?

I have a 4Runner ordered with KDSS and I would like to make the off-road into a Pro clone so looking to have a similar lift and stance.

Speaking with Westcott designs, they say I can go with their lift that is 3" front and 1.5" rear and there are no KDSS issues. This seems to be contrary to what I've read.

Is there a cheaper option that is similar quality to the King that allows me to adjust the lift?

Radflo might be an option worth looking at.

Similar valving, but more options...

- You can get Standard or Extended Travel.
- You can get with Reservoir or without.
- Coilovers come Standard with a 600lb coil, but can upgrade to 650 or 700lb as well.

Their production lead time is quicker right now.

there are equivalents to King but not necessarily cheaper from Fox, Icon, and Old Man Emu

if you're looking to go cheaper there are some simpler offerings from Eibach, Bilstein, and Old Man Emu that aren't as fancy

Hit up shock surplus, they seem to be pretty knowledgeable.

kings are great. if you wanna abuse it, go for the kings/fox 2.5's/radflos/icon's/ome/bilstein 8100 etc. if its forest service roads, the setup above will be fantastic.

If you want a nicer stance like you mentioned, yes theyre needed. otherwise just buy wheels you like with the appropriate offset.

UCA arent necessary with the fox 2.0 or bilstein 6112's. itll be noticeable if you add them later though. the extra castor feels nice on the highway. Dirt King Fabrication sells ball joint upper control arms with bushing pivots that are quiet and low maintenance (loosen the through bolt and grease them once or twice a year)

I ordered a set of black TRD Pro rims. Was thinking of going with 275s. Most likely Geolandars but the Wild Peaks are nice. From the reviews the Geos seem to be the best highway tire. Where I live there are just potholes and beaches to drive on. Most trails will scratch the hell out of a side by side let alone a truck.

My plan is to level it, 2" in the front and 1 inch in the rear. I believe a TRD Pro sits 1.5" higher in front and .5" higher in back than an off-road?
