light bar spliced into high beams questions..

i have a rigid 20" double row LED light bar i want to hook into my high beams, I'm kinda sure how to do this, but wondering if i splice into the left hi-beam bulb wire will the left hi-beam be dimmer when i turn the hi-beams and light bar on? has anyone ever put an "ad a circut" inside the fuse box on the hi beam fuse? would that even work?? I'm not looking for the easy way, just the correct way.

You need to use a relay.

Use a relay, DO NOT use the factory wire as power for the light bar. You will only use the high beam wire to trigger your relay on for the light bar, so no it won't be affected.

This. I have my ditch lights powered through a relay and triggered by my high beams. I can’t recall exactly how I wired it, but I did run the trigger wire from the switch to the high beam wire. That wire also has a fuse on it. With this method, you can ultimately turn the lights off if needed... although my switch has always been left on. I did not splice the factory wiring. I used a 9005 extension for splicing.

Don't forget that if you have DRL you'll want to address that also.

I'd have to disable the DRL's then or just not turn them on? the bar came with a harness with a relay and a switch, couldn't I just turn the switch off during the day and solve this problem?

Yes you could but if you forget it could cost you a ticket. You could also just disable the DRLs. I did mine when I added the led high beams and added the raptor lights.

Also consider putting one of these in line (to splice into) so you don't have to splice directly into your headlight wiring harness!!!
It can be reversed in the future without a splice in your OEM wiring if need be. Just sayin'
