light brown antifreeze & overheared

97 4rnr 6 cylinder reservoir cap popped off & antifreeze is light brown when it overheated, no white smoke from exhaust no antifreeze in oil, could it be trans. oil in radiator, & what would cause this? also trans. started shifting funny, its an automatic ..thanks for any help, Pete, oh it's more like a pinkish milkshake coler

Definitely check your trans fluid and search "pink milkshake" on this forum.

You may be the newest victim of it....

Light brown fluid sounds more like a blown head gasket.

Could it also possibly be a busted engine Oil Cooler unit?

if someone used straight water instead of antifreeze, it could just be old rusty water

The red and green coolant mixed makes brown also.
