light bulb replacement

has any one replaced any of their lights with l.e.d replacement bulbs. i was looking at reverse lights and interior map lights.

are the l.e.d lights any brighter for b.u. lights. the interior lights i was going to change colors. are they just a straight replacement. weres a good place to buy l.e.d bulbs. thanks for the help

I haven't changed out my back up bulbs, but yes they will be brighter. And it's easy to switch them. I have done some swaps in my headlights, and they are much better. I have my interior lights swapped out with blue LED's, and yes, it's a direct swap, as long as you get the right sized bulbs.

You will need the 194/168 size bulb for the map lights, as well as all 4 doors, and the license plate lights. For the dome lights (the 2 on the ceiling: 1 in the middle, one in the rear) you will need the 3022 festoon bulb.

thanks for the help . i ordered all the led's today to replace my door, map ,2 overhead interior lights and back up lights.

Let us know how it turns out, i.e. which bulbs you used in which locations and if they are bright enough (especially for map and license plate lights).

I replaced the overhead light bulbs with 1 watt high power leds in each position, and it is definitely brighter than the original on about 1/5th the power, but those were relatively expensive devices.

led's done

got the new led's in yesterday and they look cool. went with blue led's. used 3022 -x4 festoon bulbs for overhead lights, wled 120 degree bulbs in door lights , wled-x4 lights in map lights. bought 921-x12 cool white for b-up lights and they were NO way bright enough to use for backing up. but all the inerior lights worked great. it was 33.32 shipped to my door for everything from www.superbrightleds.com

For dome lights you might want to consider oznium.com They have super-thin LED dome lights that will fit the 4th. Gen's perfectly!

For reverse lights I went with PIAA Superwhite bulbs or you could try these LED's right here from www.v-leds.com

I would recommend v-leds over any other LED site, they have many different styles and types of LED's, and if you can't find what your looking for on there try www.autolumination.com
